Pointless in this discussion⦠we are taking about trucksā¦

A (nearly) bone-stock 2017 Ford Raptor conquered the Baja 1000 with seconds to spare
Along with all of Fordās other rankings in the Baja 1000
I wouldnāt exactly call an engineer or a marketing manager a āwealthyā person. Iām one myself. Purely middle class. My point is, how many Americans are in the value chain of each company vs. where just the assembly line is?
Ideally, I wish the Mav was assembled at one of Fordās American...
Watch the video when Ford launched the F-150 Lightening.
Ford CEO Farley said that the consultants told Ford to abandon their huge Rouge plant as it wasāout of dateā⦠he made the decision to not only not abandon it, but to revitalize it as the heart of Lightning and other EV manufacturing for...
Not only that, but more of the Mav highly-paid engineering, design, testing talent in America too vs. the Santa Cruz! Thatās a lot of American jobs on top of the American components in the Mav!
I suspect the weight limit is so little in the bed bc of the lid on the in-bed trunk. Honda used tough carbon fiber for the lid to solve the payload problem. I suspect, for cost reasons, Hyundai did notā¦
As others have pointed out 660 lbs is just wimpy!
You can load 1300 lb. Into the bed of the Mav and a 200 lb man can drive it.
Not so with the Santa Cruz. Borderline lying by Hyundai!
You could still put a helluva lot more than 660 lbs in the Maverickās bed with plenty of capacity left for passengers!
That Santa Cruz number is just plain sad.. šš¼āāļø
Only 660 lbs can be carried in the bed!
Look at the explanation I posted from Motor Trendā¦
Hyundai trying to āspinā the numbers. Thatās borderline lying by Hyundai
WRONG: From Motortrend:
Those Are Small Beds. How Much Weight Can They Carry?
The new Maverick has a maximum payload capacity of 1,500 pounds; the new Santa Cruz tops out at 1,748 pounds (though this number may change, as Hyundai has already revised it multiple times). Payload is the combined...
Itās āassembledā in Alabama.. you might want to take a look at the country of origin on the parts vs. the Mav. Iām sure youāll see a different story.
I own a 2019 Ridgeline RTL-E. The capabilities SUCK! It has LESS capabilities than a top of the line Mav. It is a soccer-mom mobile with a bed on the back. Same as the Santa Cruz.
The Honda Ridgeline has ZERO off-road capability whereas the Mav has a full FX4 package available. (Hondaās such a...
Doubtful⦠look at Honda Ridgeline sales. Anemic.. Honda sold just 32,000 in 2020. And that was with the automotive press giving it accolades..
The SC is to the Ridgeline what the Mav is to the Ranger (and Ford sold over 101,000 of the Ranger in 2020)
Payload capacity is 90 lb LESS than the...
Er, yeah⦠on a wing and a prayer? He makes a good point about condos and apartments. Exactly who is supposed to fund that for existing construction?
Even all the new, luxury apartments that are building in our downtown arenāt designed w EVs in mind.
Then thereās the power grid issue⦠and the...
My guess is, if theyāre required to use these small VW platforms, theyāll use them fir Europe and Asia.. not for the US⦠I mean would you want a Nissan Leaf pickup? Or that stupid, tiny BMW EV that ppl laugh at (we have the big BMW plant here in SC so we see BMWs around most ppl donāt)
