My 2024 manual (hardcopy for Ecoboost) is slightly different.
In Step 1, it specifically states to turn on but do NOT start the vehicle.
I guess if doesn't work one way, try the other.
Had the same problem. Couldn't see when making turns at night on dark streets (no streetlights). If a pedestrian was crossing the crosswalk, I couldn't see them. The tint level was 35%. Found a good tint and got small swatches of 50% and 70% tint. Stuck them on the drivers door glass and...
Mine broke, also, after hitting some road dibris (a mattress!). I cut a piece of material from a rubber mud flap and ziptied it into place. The mattress had only broken the scoop portion if the plastic assembly. The fix is holding up well.
After 73 posts, I guess I'll have to try and verify if this safety feature works, or not (or did I inadvertently skip over the post that actually verified operation). I'll post my results.
I'm also stunned at the number of folks that have never made a poor decision while operating a motor...
Back to the reason for this thread.
From your description, the Driver Alert functioned as described in the owners manual. I didn't read anything about this particular function vibrating the wheel and/or issuing an audible alarm.
There are so many factors involve with mpg.
Was 27.6 highway, city, combined?
Is the one tankfull or average of multiple fill-ups?
Is this figure from the Avg Miles on the dash or calculated? (My average dash reading was 1.5mpg high.)
If calculated, did you top-off the same each time?
How...
I put 9800 miles on my '24 XLT AWD last year. Average (calculated) mileage was 28.9 mpg. That includes a 2500 mile road trip (31.7 mpg).
I'm in the DFW area, so mostly flat terrain and my schedule allows me to avoid rush hour traffic. There are so many other variables involved with mpg...
"physics is physics"?
Just for clarification, what early 2000s Ford Ranger had a 9000lbs towing capacity? The highest I found was about 6000lbs.
Ok, I'll answer my own question.
2002-2008 Ranger had a max towing capacity of 6000lbs: with the 6 cylinder engine and higher ratio rear end. The...
I did get prescription, yellow lenses with anti-glare coating. Had a choice of three levels of tint. I went with the mid level. It makes night driving tolerable, now. Any loss due to the tint is negligible, especially since I'm no longer severely blinded by oncoming traffic anymore, and my...
You're correct about the cans catching more water than oil, at least during colder months. Summertime, there is water present, but its more of a gooey mess. The fact that there is oil and water present in the catch-cans (even with 2 seperate PVC systems incorporated onto this engine) makes me...
Darn it! If these results are accurate, now I'll have to remove my catch-cans so I can get oil vapors to the back side if the valves.🤪 I just can't win.
Thanks for the link to the video.
Can't speak for the CRC product, but Berryman says their 2611 Valve/Combustion chamber cleaner is NOT safe for MAP sensors. There is a MAP sensor on the left front of the intake manifold. There's no way around it. I will remove and plug the hole while appling this product. Looks like there...
I've not had the best of luck using the forums search engine, either. And the fallout can be harsh, to say the least.
Next time, try this: use Google and preface your search with "maverick". It almost always finds the topic you're looking for in this forum. Plus, other sources of...
I do have clean and dirty side catch cans and I'm using Mobil 1 with 5k change intervals. I plan on doing this cleaning process using Berryman or AC Delco Top End Cleaner. The dirty side catch can feeds into the full vacuum port just above the throttle plate. Feeding the cleaner through that...
Haven't found a thread that talks about this process using Top End Engine Cleaner:
In days gone by, I would use Top End Engine Cleaner to remove deposits from the combustion chamber. The process was to connect a tube to a full vacuum port, then start a hot engine, rev it up, and suck the Top...
Just a side note: Watching my vacuum/boost gauge, this truck goes into boost with anything more than light acceration. Starting from a stop on a hill? You're in boost. Long uphill grade (not even a hill) on the highway? You're getting into boost, again. Bucking a headwind? Yep, back on...
You could try parking on clean pavement and removing the shield under the engine on a cold/cool day. Start the engine and let it come to full operating temp while watching, feeling and smelling for leaks. Stop engine and do the same for cool down.
I had a Taurus that only leaked a short...
