  1. Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features

"Starts building chips" . . . Again! It's sad America took so long to get back to doing what American Jack Kilby invented while at Texas Instrument in 1958. Updates can be found on the net about the revival of American Microchip manufacturing across America. We have a bit of a wait but it's...
  2. Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features

There will be no soldering? Sorry, you are just not understanding. I have US patents for the development of a digital watch so I have first hand knowledge in PCB and Chip technology. When the device tech removes the module missing the proper chip to activate and control the deactivated...
  3. Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features

In the conversation with my Uncle Jim referenced in post #180 I didn't mention "Chip Creep" - - something my uncle elaborated on where the Chip works loose from vibration, heat, and cold. Seems Ford has already had serious problems with Chip Creep years ago. I didn't mention it because I didn't...
  4. Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features

I just got two new American Flags yesterday . . . . . yep, "Made in China". I HOPE WE ALL LEARN FROM THIS - - America First!
  5. Ford will sell & deliver Mavericks without chips controlling non-safety critical features

I had a conversation with my Uncle Jim today who I reference often on this form. He is a retired Ford field engineer. He confirmed most of what I thought would be involved with these units shipped without "Chips" for non-safety features as well as what @davnau posted in #110. Uncle Jim - "If a...
  6. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

You are correct, the 16th it is. I stand corrected.
  7. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

I would be happy to correct my post but it is correct as posted. The thread is "March Production" right. It's also common knowledge August 24th is what Ford is shooting to "Open MY23 Orders", right. Sorry you didn't read it correctly - thought it was pretty clear?
  8. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

    1. Reservations - immaterial to the conversation 2. Orders - only Ford knows 3. Scheduled units to be built - at least 63,266** 4. Built as of January 31st 2022 - 33,722 (waiting for February numbers) 5. Scheduled to be built in March - 5,400 units 6. Scheduled to be built April through...
  9. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

I'm not sure that would effect the VIN sequence? There are several members on this forum from Canada. There are about 400 Ford dealers in Canada and from what I understand the VIN only is coded were it is built, not destination.
  10. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

You make a good point - if the goal post doesn't move again. My money is not on that August 24th date. Rather they build orders from 2022 or 2023 the numbers we have seen are for production during the remaining months of 2022.
  11. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

Absolutely, that's how it works! Why would they start at 59,000 ? Besides, like I said, my uncle spent his whole life at Ford and he knows his stuff. You can go to the list on this forum and see the VIN number progression. Remember, members on this forum are just a small percentage of the total...
  12. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

That 63,000 number is not guessing or an assumption. It comes from more that one VIN number entered in the list by members on this forum. I also used the more conservative 5,400 per month rather that 6,000 so based on the latest average builds per month, I believe my numbers are as close to...
  13. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

It should be noted that at the end of May, 2021 Ford Hermosillo rolled off the line 59,703 units. I'm sure they all had a VIN number right? Well, this is BEFORE Maverick was even on their production list! So this is yet another fact proving that VIN numbers are Model specific.
  14. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

As of December 31, 2021 Hermosillo built 159,920 Total units in 2021 which 25,880 were Mavericks. 366 Mavericks in June and July with the balance of 25,514 in the last five months of 2021. I'm interested in your source as I have a retired Uncle who has worked at most all Ford plants in the US...
  15. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

Thanks CG for actually reading my post. I posted this a month ago today and sometime before that. These are HARD numbers, not assumptions. And as you say, this has nothing to do with Reservations. The first time I posted this a member tried to say the Bronco Sport VINs were included and another...
  16. March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

If you go down the list of the MTC order list you'll see the highest VIN number is a little over 63,000 for units scheduled through April. Although there is certainly higher VIN numbers out there, if we just use 63k as the base for this calculation, we're already over the the 50k order estimate...
  17. 📈 Maverick February 2022 Sales: 4,037 Sold

Likely these are Fleet Mavericks. My salesman sold seven White XL Mavericks to a pool service company here in Florida. White is the most common color to have wrapped with company graphics.
  18. Clarification of the Maverick email sent to Ford dealers

My question is for Ford . . . . 1. are the Dealer's Stock orders going to include any of those constraints that Retail orders are being asked to sacrifice or will Ford allocate them to Retail orders? 2. will Ford stop or at least limit the markup to any Mavericks on Dealer's lots?
  19. [Dealer Memo] Not all 2022 Mavericks will be built. Update on Maverick Retail Order Scheduling, Customer Options and Order Amendment

I agree, the allocations in the case of the Maverick are just plain stupid. But I think asking to sacrifice ANY parts from an existing order to build a stock order for a dealer just makes me MORE pissed off! 🥵
  20. [Dealer Memo] Not all 2022 Mavericks will be built. Update on Maverick Retail Order Scheduling, Customer Options and Order Amendment

You're correct, he just doesn't read: "While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock inventory . . . . . . Which is my main problem with the Memo!
