  1. button next to headlight switch

Got to admit, even after knowing exactly what that button does, I couldn't find it in the manual. Even searching the pdf manual for "light" didn't help. The entire EXTERIOR LIGHTING section of the 2023 manual makes no mention of this specific button that is present in my 2023. It shows a picture...
  2. Rear brakes shot @ 50,000 miles

The Mazda CX-5 tends to go through rear pads faster than the front. That was surprising to me as well.
  3. CEO Jim Farley says Americans need to fall ‘back in love’ with smaller cars

If they made an F150 that got 40mpg I'd probably buy one. I wouldn't pay 70 grand to do so though.
  4. CEO Jim Farley says Americans need to fall ‘back in love’ with smaller cars

That looks awesome. Can I have that in a 5 speed manual?
  5. Rear Facing Work Lights Installed

What kind of "remote" are you using?
  6. 24S27 tail lights recall complete, things to know

I'm betting it kept being pushed aside for actual paying jobs and/or for cars who's owners are in the waiting room.
  7. Things you don't see every day

Poster child for somebody I never want to meet.
  8. People are just Ignorant

That's why I aways park far away from any other cars. The average person doesn't give a crap about their car so why would they give even a fraction of a crap about yours.
  9. Could all hybrids become a target by the fully-electric EV pushers? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Not sure where you're getting your "news", but VW got slapped because they were putting illegal software into their diesel cars to generate less emissions when the car was being tested and then switch to more emissions (but higher mpg) the rest of the time.
  10. FINALLY, FORScan coding to disable the Seatbelt Information Screen! (CONFIRMED WORKING)

I read a post somewhere that claimed all these nagging screens are taken into account by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as making the vehicle safer and therefore it gets a higher ranking which is a sales aid.
  11. [How-To] Install & Program a Keypad for your Maverick

Well that's disappointing to know I have to shell out $250-$400 5 years from now to get my keypad back. I wonder if this is something a good locksmith can do? The whole, "job takes 5 min but I'm charging an hour" irks me. There's a youtube video where the guy planted cameras in his car for a...
  12. -

Watched a youtube video where they were comparing the DD hitchmount vs Baja Designs and measured the output of both. While the execution of the DD is very nice I don't feel like it puts out enough light for what they're charging. The spread was nice but the overall lighting was eclipsed by a...
  13. Antidote Tonneau cover?

Don't own one, but that's a pretty good price for a retractable. And that canister looks surprisingly small.
  14. Bed Light Control

It should turn off the instant you lock the truck, otherwise it should time out with the rest of your lights. Are you leaving it unlocked? If you only want it to come on when you say so, I don't see anything in the manual to indicate this is an option. Perhaps it's something you can control via...
  15. My 2024 Keypad alternate location... where's yours?

So the keypad is wireless? The manual makes no mention of a battery for it.
  16. Introducing The New Switchback Rock Lights: A Game-Changer for Off-Road Enthusiasts

If only people used "off road only" products only off road.
  17. Tonneau and cross bed rails installed

I put a tonneau cover and bed rails on the truck last weekend. I got the Agricover Access tonnosport and DeeZee cross bed rails. The cover came straight from Agricover and the bed rails via Amazon (Dee Zee DZ99781TB Universal Cross Rail). The DeeZee rails are 1/3 the cost and 1/3 the capacity of...
  18. Jeepers ….$150 oil change???

Well when your hourly rate is $200 I can see how a dealer can end up charging $100-$150 for a simple oil change. Just another reason to DIY or at least find a independent small shop.
  19. Updated 2025 Maverick w/ larger vertical screen spotted!

They don't care, bottom line is more important than customer satisfaction - witness GM and no AA/CP. A single screen is cheap and replaces a multitude of switches and wires. And until enough people say NO or the NHTSA rules out functions buried deep in menus, this will continue. And my guess is...
  20. Oil Change, keep the engine shield or ditch it?

Great idea. My Mazda CX5 has a full under body panel but has little removable panels for oil changes and tranny drain. (It helps in the Mazda's case that the oil filter and drain are on the same side.) But if the Ford panel is that flexible the hinge route sounds like the way to go. Why the...
