Did Ford change the programming on the traction control? I went back and watched the TFL video when they took a '22 FWD Hybrid to the ranch. It seemed to be more aggressive grabbing the spinning wheels with the brakes.
Truxedo has a good rail and cover that are designed with each other in mind.
Elevate TS Rails + Sentry hard roll up. I think the Sentry is also compatible with the bed extender while the bakflip ones are not. (Yes, the Ford hard roll up is incompatible with the Ford bed extender)
That event led to large changes in Ford's quality control over their suppliers. Huge emphasis on preventing contamination of any sealing material or surface. They will visit their tier 1 supplier locations a lot more frequently and follow up on all of these new requirements. They also now take...
I plan to eventually upgrade my cooling setup to the larger radiator, fan and adding the transmission cooler. I have FWD, so we shall see about fitment/compatibility.
I have had stuff overheat in the past with summertime heat and traffic in the Atlanta area. I got the towing package on my 2014...
They would have to pay the tariff then. More jobs moving back to the US, but higher prices. The standard of living in the US would get the benefit though.
More likely it would be similar to what already is going on. I worked for a South Korean based Tier 1 Auto supplier in GA. We made parts...
I think it could be helpful for many parties in the long run.
If we put a tariff on cars from Mexico for companies that do not match our labor, safety, and environmental standards, then this will encourage manufacturers to change and match. The benefit would be that only minor changes would...
I drove a 2009 VW Jetta TDI SportWagen.
I loved the diesel engine. Good low end TQ. I loved the wagon cargo area. I loved how nimble it was.
I did not like:
-The perpetual sunroof leaks causing wet floors and mold
-The hesitation when accelerating from a stop
-The DPF exhaust setup
-The Dual...
2009 VW Jetta SportWagen TDI Turbo Polluter. I had it for 3 years and it cost me more per month than the Maverick even though it was paid in full ($1 from my father-in-law), and the Maverick has a payment.
I initially ordered a hybrid, but Ford's production shortage moved me to switch (situation dictated that I needed a replacement vehicle quickly). I'm not doing too shabby with 32.5 MPG HWY.
The part I am missing the most about the hybrid though is that the climate controls (especially the AC)...
Flooring it gives the same throttle response in all modes. It is always what you want to do if you need to run from danger.
If you can anticipate that you might need that kind of performance, putting it in SPORT will have the transmission ready for takeoff. I use that for situations like this...
This is exactly why Ford has driving modes. ECO to keep the engine at minimal RPM for max efficiency, and Sport mode to keep the RPM high enough to always be in the power band.
I have to give it about 33% throttle to get the engine to go over 1800rpm in ECO while Sport mode will practically...
Interestingly enough, when going downhill with the cruise control on, the truck will start engine/tranny braking when you hit 5 mph over the set speed. Even in ECO.
Sport mode is what I use in those types of situations. I normally run in eco and switch to sport when coming upon an area where I know that I will need to be able to react quickly. Sport mode keeps the rpms higher to ensure the turbo is spooled and ready. Throttle response is much quicker as it...
