  1. Opting out of recall?

    Used engine or rebuilt.
  2. Opting out of recall?

The repair has absolutely nothing to do with the crankshaft failing and blown the engine shards into the truck cabin. You are not responsible for any manufacturer defects and cutting holes is not a repair for the initial problem. It's a cheap way to try and save the occupants from burning alive.
  3. Opting out of recall?

No No No. Manufacturer defect that Ford refused to fix. The catastrophic engine failure and fire is their responsibility for not doing the proper repair to protect the passengers from the catastrophic event. I have seen several Lawyer websites chomping at the bit to try one of these cases.
  4. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

Those are my thoughts. The truck was designed for maximum efficiency based on wind tunnel testing and temperature control under the hood. Now because of a few failures, the EPA ratings go out the door and they open the engine compartment to rain, snow, salt and road debris by cutting open holes...
  5. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

Look at the video. Those are not weep holes. when you are required to use a saw instead of a drill bit, they are no longer considered weep holes.
  6. This guy nailed how I feel

I have a Hybrid Lariat and I only get the seatbelt display if someone is in the center back seat and tries to plug the center lap belt into the right seat buckle. The seatbelt display shows an occupant not buckled in the right back seat. Hit ok and it disappears.
  7. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

Changing the design of the underside because of 22 failures is ludicrous. The whole truck dynamics with be affected. Question, can I refuse to have this recall done if I take the truck for any service? Just for the curious, if the engine blows, I will promptly get rid of the truck.
  8. New reason to blame Ford for

Isn't it a general strike? The National Carriers’ Conference Committee that represents Union Pacific, BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Kansas City Southern and other railroads said it believes the wage increases railroads are offering are fair based on other recent major labor agreements, but the...
  9. New reason to blame Ford for

What timing. The US, Canada and UK all going on strike in July. Looks more like premeditated blackmail to me.
  10. Finally Here! Hybrid Maverick & Gtechniq Detail

Congratulations. One question you could answer better than most on the forum. What do you think of the factory paint job?
  11. ****REGARDING DEAD HYBRID MAVERICKS ISSUE****

I'm waiting for FORD to decide if they are going to replace the harness. If I hear crickets into October, I will take the connector apart and see what the materials are made of and formulate a plan of attack. I'm not going through the winter with that time bomb. I know of no...
  12. ****REGARDING DEAD HYBRID MAVERICKS ISSUE****

Your right. Quick, but stupid to do at a critical connection.

  15. Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning trademarked as Ford's new electric EV trucks

You live in a Greed driven monopoly and the RICH run everything in Washington. If there is a dollar to be made Congress will make sure the Lobbyist (Big Money Donors} get all the profits. The CIA would execute me before allowing me to talk to anyone in Congress.
  16. Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning trademarked as Ford's new electric EV trucks

Just for the record. I want a two door, extended cab Maverick EV with a six-foot bed, FWD and batteries on both sides with a 400-mile range.
  17. Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning trademarked as Ford's new electric EV trucks

That's for Commercial Property and each one will require a permit from the electric company to make sure the Power Company has enough capacity to power the units. No residential sales will be allowed by local governments or insurance companies. :)
  18. Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning trademarked as Ford's new electric EV trucks

Do you actually think the electric or oil industry will allow privatization of charging stations? The kids in our neighborhood need a permit for selling Lemon Aid.
  19. Whose Fault?

Wish you GOOD LUCK, I was a June order and the information was non existant until Production time in Febuary. I had a reliable car, so the pressure wasn't bad, but the agratvation was through the roof. You will survive and your New Maverick will make up for the wait. I believe most all of the...
  20. Whose Fault?

Probably not, but they usually received some help from family to buy a used car (66 Corvair) and were on parents' insurance. Those jobs were after school and summer jobs for kids. No one was able to support a family working at McDonalds. Minimum wage jobs were for people wanting first jobs and a...
