I never said that any were being offered as such. There is a difference between what is and what should be, and that doesn't mean that we should all just accept it as the new normal.
I refuse to let a dealer dictate norms because of "but the market", as "the market" is used to justify whatever they want, much like people justify many messed up things because of "the system" or "just how things are", while ignoring that said systems were invented by humans and are...
Yep, I was already well aware of that, having researched it some time ago. Hopefully the video will educate more people.
That doesn't change the fact that the Maverick is 7.5 inches longer than a 10th gen Honda Accord.
Unrelated, but curious. As I was reading this thread, your HRG thing stood out to me.
If you don't mind, a question. Since the forum attaches your name and profile to everything you post automatically, why sign off with your initials?
I looked up the length of a 10th gen Honda Accord (2018 to current) vs. a Maverick, and the Maverick is 7.5 inches longer than an already pretty long Accord.
That's fine, but as a used vehicle (even gently), it loses at a minimum 10% of it's value automatically, and most people don't factor that into their asking prices.
The difference (so far, may change as used Mavs become more common) is that dealers are selling new Mavs that have never been titled, while users are generally selling somewhat used Mavs, even if lightly used.
Also, something I've noticed, the "Buy my truck" posts are rarely in the correct...
Welcome to the community. If you don't mind, compared to the window sticker (which has to stay there until it's sold, as a new vehicle), how much over MSRP did they charge you, if any?
Unless I'm missing something, Ford chose not to monetize the services that other manufacturers do, so we get free diagnostic codes, free remote start, etc.
Granted, it's possible that Ford could charge for "Phone As A Key" if they wanted to, but so far, based on what they offer for free even on...
I mean, accidents are shitty situations for everyone involved, but if this woman fessed up to her fault, then I can respect her for having the proverbial balls to admit her fuckup, and I might even give her a ride home or something, since her car is not going to drive, and the truck probably...
Does the locking console option reduce the amount of stuff you can put in there?
Also, what do you have in there? I considered having a gun in my truck, but decided against it for a few reasons.
It makes no sense. It's public information, attached to all vehicles.
Just as covering up a license plate makes no sense, because you show that to everyone that follows you, cameras, etc.
They're just as unhelpful as Ford tends to be, so that tracks.
Also, why would you worry about giving out your VIN and dealership info? VINs on every vehicle are visible from the outside (I'm sure there's a federal law regulating that somewhere), and the information about the dealer you got it...
Yep, I saw that in a TFL video, and was wondering if that was exclusive to Sync 3 (and thus, Lariat trim only, unless upgraded piece by piece) or if it was available on the XL and XLT connected touch radio as well.
That's literally what bait and switch is. Dealers have been using unavailable but in-demand vehicles to draw customer attention and contact for many years, so that they can sell them something else.
All of that inventory stuff is BS, because all it would take is a single field in the inventory system that says "Is vehicle already promised to someone or otherwise unavailable for walk-in retail sale?" with a yes or no answer, and then you filter out any vehicles with a "yes" answer...
