  1. Why "Lower" or "raise" your Maverick?

The first vehicle I slammed was a Chrysler 300. I did it for handling purposes, it had a lot of body sway. It improved handling and I found I liked the look. My next car was a Dodge Charger R/T. I left it alone because handling was great. Both vehicles were a PITA in winter snow. I promised my...
  2. Automatic car wash -- stock antenna / roof damage?

These vehicles come with a minimal depth of clear coat. Don’t waste it at a car wash. Hand wash only. If the time and effort of hand washing isn’t realistic try one of those coin operated pressure wash places and chamois it dry yourself. Last resort would be touchless car wash only because of...
  3. Making BAP wheels look a little better

Looks great! I wouldn’t worry about the paint, I’m sure Armour All would have taken that into consideration when making a tire product. Let us know how it ages. Some products I’ve used tend to ā€˜gray out’ black finishes over time.
  4. Poll for all current owners! Axles

2022 EB AWD 32k miles with 1.5ā€ levelling kit. Shudder between 18 & 25 mph. Not officially diagnosed yet but going into dealership soon. Positive the verdict will be CV issue. Equally positive I’ll be arguing over warranty coverage due to levelling kit.
  5. Water drainage between back window and tonneau cover.

I bought this truck so I could get to work during snowstorms, drive through mud to my favourite fishing spots and haul home lumber, topsoil, landscaping brick, appliances, 4’X8’ sheets, etc. When the box gets dirty (and it does) I clean it with soap and 3,500psi from a pressure washer. Why...
  6. Water drainage between back window and tonneau cover.

Water off my rear window typically seeps past my tonneau seal and drips onto the corners of my bedliner. Probably not the answer you were hoping for.
  7. Spark Plug Change on 2.0

I just checked the gap on these used plugs. They are at .030ā€.
  8. Spark Plug Change on 2.0

Same OEM plugs. Cost me $50 from a local online marketplace sight. I checked with dealer and was quoted $23 each CAD. Crazy price!
  9. Spark Plug Change on 2.0

No issues. I was bored and curious. Having already changed differential and PTU oil I thought what the hell.
  10. Spark Plug Change on 2.0

Changed plugs yesterday, 30k miles. Electrode and insulators looked good but the ceramic has heat or scorching discolouration. Any else see this? Is it typical?
  11. Fuel smell in oil (EcoBoost Maverick)

Hey folks, This morning I did a quick check under the hood, air filter, fluid levels, etc. When I checked oil level I had no rag to wipe dipstick so I used my fingers. Oil level is good (monitor states 64% oil life), but when cleaning my hands the smell of gas was strong. The same smell I get...
  12. Does Rotary Shifter suck?

I like it. The resistance and indents are perfect. The only drawback is that I have to be conscious of direction. I intuitively find myself turning it counter clockwise. But for me, chewing gum and walking has it’s challenges.
  13. 4k pkg gear ratio

    Great bit Great video. Brilliant!
  14. Broken Axles - Poll

I didn’t fill out the poll because I haven’t had a failure yet, but… My 22 EB AWD with 1.5 lift has developed a slight vibration/shudder when accelerating at low speed, about 20 mph after turning. Right turns more so for some reason.
  15. Pre cut windshield shield strips?

I ordered pre-cut from filmvantage. They offered an array of tint percentages and types. I went with 15% carbon ceramic. Can’t recall the price but it was in the ballpark of other offerings. Shout out to them, the fit was perfect.
  16. Hit by the Maverick Curse!

Good strategy. May be a $0.12 O-ring ($5.00 Ford). Best of luck my friend. You’ve got warranty. Make them honour it!
  17. Hit by the Maverick Curse!

It’s always gut wrenching when the CEL illuminates. I’ve experienced many of them on various vehicles from various manufacturers. A Dodge Charger of mine loved the EVAP warning. Turned out a weak spring would occasionally not allow the fuel filler seal to seat properly. I’d kill the code, play...
  18. 54 1/4” divider board for truck bed

As long as we are on this subject, how many of you are cutting a custom "height" to match the top of the wheelwells, to provide support if carrying 4x8 sheets? With my bed mat in, I need a 6-1/2" tall board. HRG I attempted that but found it was impossible with my BAK tonneau cover. The rails...
  19. Ford hard rollup tonneau cover felt lining issue

The purpose of the felt is to insulate from heat. Prevents you from burning your hand when rolling it up on hot days. I removed the felt and any residue with GooGone. PITA but It looks much better. Yesterday in 98 degree weather I rolled it up, no burn issues. Yes it was warm but so was...
