  1. Interior Plastic High Scratch Area's Need Aftermarket Help.

You don't want to hear this but there is pretty much zero chance your Mav will come out unscathed if you let kids in. They just don't care. It's not that fault, they just aren't wired that way (yet). First day of ownership my wife put a 2' long scratch on the passenger door panel. I covered...
  2. Lariat Envy?

I dunno, there's a ton of 3500 lb campers and boats out there. I'm definitely a little envious of the 4k on the new hybrids. I wouldn't use it all the time but would've liked to rent a smaller 3500 lb camper a few times a year.
  3. Do you have the right to know…

When I picked my '23 hybrid up it had three (3) miles on it.
  4. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive [LOCKED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR BY OP]

Interesting. Well I'm not expert on the series but had read a lot about timing failures on them. Hopefully it's not widespread.
  5. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive [LOCKED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR BY OP]

Guesing they assume Motorcraft 0W-20 for hybrid and 5w-30 for ecoboost, I'm sure it's been programmed that way. Motorcraft is good oil as are the Ford FL series filters. I personally don't think the internals of these motors are what we should worry about. I'm more worried about leaks, body...
  6. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive [LOCKED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR BY OP]

Don't those 3.5 EcoBoost motors have issues regardless of oil though? There is a history of timing tensioner or chain failure, no matter what oil you use and how often you change it. 100k-120k is generally when it happens. Not a great design.
  7. Lariat Envy?

I bought XLT because I didn't like the rims on the lariat and didn't like the fake pleather seats. I really like the cloth XLT interior. I added ACC and lane centering for a couple hundred bucks, that was the only thing I wanted on the lariat trim.
  8. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive [LOCKED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR BY OP]

Can someone explain why that imagine is bad? The pickup tube looks fine and isn't clogged. Without information on compression, etc we have no idea what the condition of the motor is like from an operation standpoint.
  9. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Here's where I ended up. I came back and it was 40°-45° and I went 70 mph vs 74 mph. Averaged about 33 mpg coming back home, so still less than what I have been getting, but round trip was just about 30 mpg. Definitely a learning experience.
  10. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

    So 1.125% electric
  11. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Yes I'm comfortable going up to ~43 psi. Sidewall is 50. In another car I have, produced in the 90's, it came with a "comfort" psi and an "efficient" psi. Efficient was ~5 psi more than comfort. Nowadays, manufacturers just produce one number. Sidewall on mine is 50 psi. They ship at 45-50 to...
  12. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Yes so far. Wind was around 2 mph headwind average. So I was curious and looked this up. Departure was 270/04 so roughly 4 mph, arrival was calm 000/0 so average of 2 mph headwind throughout. I did the same speed (within 4 mph) on all these trips. They are roundtrip with little additional...
  13. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Interesting! Yes I know about big mpg drops during short trips. 100% expected. Looks like Civic was the only one to ~20% drop. Dec 27: round trip with temps between 45° (going) and 55° (coming) 33 mpg Jan 26: Temp on my last trip was 25°. So 27/33 = 19% drop. So I guess close enough So I...
  14. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Isn't the engine running 100% of the time at 75 mph? I use almost zero electric miles on my 75 mph 180 mile highway drives. I set cruise control to 75 and it just cruises. I'm comparing summer 75 mph, 180 miles to winter 75 mph, 180 mile drive here. Summer is 35-36 and winter is 26-27. Just...
  15. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Are you doing a lot of idling or warming up before driving? I didn't, I opened my garage and started driving. Even so, that shouldn't impact a 180 mile drive appreciably.
  16. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

On highway the engine runs 100% of the time, which is why I wrote *highway* in my title. Should be zero factor. Zero factor on highway going 70-75 on flat terrain, you don't use the battery, you use the ICE for sustained highway driving. Only initially on startup not hours into the trip, I...
  17. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

I live in central NC, we've had a month+ of well below average temps. I've owned it two winters now, bought in Sept '23 however didn't drive it much that winter.
  18. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

Not who you quoted but I get around 35 mpg highway in the warmer months going 75, 36-37 mpg going 70. It's the same highway route of which 98% is highway speed at 70 or 75 depending on my time pressure for 180 miles. My tire pressure is always at or above 40 psi. Today I actually filled it to...
  19. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

I have a '23 hybrid, and drive a normal highway route of 180 miles @ 70-75 mpg. My average speed is around 74. Did it today, first time in cold temps (28°F weather) and got 27 mpg. Normal is 35-36 over the summer months. Keep in mind tire pressure was ~40 on all four (just filled them prior to...
  20. MPG on 2025 AWD Hybrid

FWIW I have a 2023 hybrid, just drove 180 miles @ 74 mph in 28° temp and got 27 mpg. This was by far the lowest mpg I have ever gotten. Normal is 35-36 on that route.
