I went very easy on it the first 1,000 miles. I only hard accelerate when passing and getting up to hideaway speeds, I don't abuse it. It's just when I'm hard accelerating it drops to four or five miles to the gallon. The factory actuator went bad, the replacement lasted a week, I now on my...
2024 Maverick FX4. At around 1100 mi my wastegate actuator began to fail. Replaced under warranty. 7 Days later the second one started to fail. They replaced it again along with the PCV clean side hose. It's running okay but it seems like my fuel consumption has went up. It may be my imagination...
Well mine went back in the shop today. The second wastegate actuator is beginning to fail after a week. My deduction is a binding waistgate that's causing the actuator to go bad. I think it needs a turbo assembly but I bet Ford says another actuator.
Here's mine with Mabett flares. I did add 1.5" spacers in the back, 1" in the front (had to cut about 3/16"/3 threads off of the front factory studs as they protruded .180 of an inch from the hub centric spacer).
I installed the mabett flares. I don't think they're going to incubate rust anymore than the other plastic cladding around the bed and rockers. They don't break the paint or require any drilling and they're not watertight so when water gets behind them it will drain away.
Good deal. I have used that trick before. A lot of body work on sports bikes is post and grommet and the connection gets loose after a while and the parts vibrate. Easy fix.
Has anyone tried wrapping a couple layers of electrical tape around the posts, get a little snugger fit in The grommets? Maybe some heat shrink tubing?
Just went through this. 2024 FX4 4K. Drivetrain malfunction code at 1,100 miles with a wrench light and limp mode. Malfunction went away after a restart and drove fine, 2 weeks later the same thing. Drove it a little harder for a month thinking maybe it was a break-in issue. Then another...
It could be a number of things. I just went through this. I'd get the warning, the wrench lite would come on. After sitting a few minutes and a restart the light would go away and run fine for a couple weeks. Go to a dealer and give them your VIN. They can remote access your trucks history and...
Got the call. Bad waistgate actuator. None in Kansas City, had to order from Michigan. 2 or 3 days out. You'd think the parts supply chain would be better by now. The pandemics over and these trucks have been out for over 3 years. 😐
2024 Maverick FX4 4K, 1600 MI. Dropped off at the dealer today, drivetrain malfunction, low power mode, wastegate stuck closed. Let's see how this goes 🙁.
I have purchased.
Seat covers... Although the front seat bottoms were moderately difficult, all said and done they're amazing.
Fender flares... I have not installed them yet but after inspection, the flares themselves look great, the tape application was poor at best. Each flare had three or...
You put blue painters tape over the part of the hitch that the plate rubs when installing. After installation remove the blue tape... No scratchy scratchy.
Don't buy that. Find a reputable exhaust shop near you and have them fabricate and weld you in a new cat back system. The exhaust on these trucks is so simple, a shop should be able to do it for 4-5 hundred with any muffler and tip you choose, in stainless as well.
I don't think anyone was trying to be disrespectful, maybe some comments were made in jest. Application problem was a fair observation followed by how to do it properly. Patience, precision, attention to detail are all key for a proper installation.
