My first new car was a 1970 Maverick 2 dr. with a column shifter. It was dark green and I put big tires and nice wheels on it. Loved that car. 55 years later, I'm driving a '25 Lariat hybrid in cobalt gray and I couldn't be happier. Nice little ride. Comfortable, quiet, peppy, and all the...
Thanks for the note. My primary care doctor wrote a script that says, "Tinted windows required. Patient has a history of skin cancer."
Has to be done on controlled script paper and kept with the registration.
My tinted windows block 90% of UVA and UVB rays. California law prohibits tinting the front windows but allows it if you have a prescription in the vehicle. Works for me. Have a great day!
I don't know about the other noises and symptoms, but when the hybrid motor in my '25 Lariat does its magical click, tick, click, I know that it's expressing solidarity with my body, which, at age 73, does the same thing. It's a very comforting confirmation that such a beautiful and faithful...
Talk about a feed good story for the Holidays! Congrats on raising a thoughtful and loving son who has obviously achieved success in life already but did not lose sight of his priorities along the way. Bravo!
Regarding the law; if anyone in your family has wrestled with skin cancer, get your doctor to write a prescription for tinted windows. Put the prescription in the truck with your registration and get those windows done!
Each summer, we get around a ten day run of plus 110 degree weather with a sun that will bleach your bones while you're still alive. Having the windows tinted and the strip across the top of the windshield makes a huge difference in the amount of heat you feel on your skin while driving as well...
Color me very satisfied. No, make that completely delighted with my '25 Hybrid Lariat. In years past, I owned an '89 Ranger Lariat and a '99 GMC Sierra 1500 Custom. Both were great trucks that did everything I asked of them, but it took half a heartbeat in the Maverick to realize this little...
Similar story here. Bought a '99 GMC Sierra 1500 Custom new in '99. Was a great truck. Used it to move a gazillion tons of rock, dirt, trees, plants, and furniture over 25 years and put 291K miles on it. But at the end, of the run, she was struggling to get 17mpg. No longer need the...
It's going on two weeks since I picked up my '25 Lariat Hybrid. They say numbers don't lie and if what these numbers are saying is true, I'll have logged 553 miles on the very first tank. Works for me and my wallet! Color me one happy Maver.
Fellow Mavers,
Just received the Mabett front license plate holder that hooks onto the front grill. Anyone know if there's a preferred location to ensure that the plate does not interfere with radar, sonar, FLIR, nuclear sensors, etc.? The installation guide seems to suggest dead center but...
That's the "Look Down" camera that's used to assist you in aligning the trailer tongue with the hitch when you're hooking up your rig to the truck. Ford uses a combination of radar and cameras (both rear facing and look down) to make it easy to back up into the proper position directly under...
Did a lot of head scratching over what color to use as inserts in the tail gate of my '25 Lariat. Could not decide between black and red so I called in the Commander in Chief. Took her about a second to offer her opinion; stick with the black-out color scheme. So, being a loyal...
