My first small truck was a 1970 Datsun (now Nissan). Out the door price was $ 2000 (yes $2000). Limited factory or aftermarket parts avail (J C Whitney was best place). Carried a slide in fully self contained camper many miles from FL to VT on to WA and then to NM. My second was 1972 Datsun...
I use Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires on my C max inflated to max pressure. Excellent tread life and great mileage ( 41.7 over 6 yrs and 166000 miles) A Goodyear rep (personal friend) once told me that the most efficient tire pressure is 5 lbs OVER the max
Most experts say to use the manufactures recommended grade, 87. Anything above is a waste of money. I occasionally fillup with premium . My C max regularly exceeds the epa even with 166000 miles on it. Non ethanol is very hard to find here.
I have found that by driving about 65 WITH the cruise control I get the best mpg. Just have to experiment and find your vehicles "sweet spot" for mpg. A couple of years ago I left Va Beach for Indianapolis and Nashville driving 65, even in the mountains, and averaged 48.6 mpg for the 2800 mile...
I had a similar problem that tire dealers tried to cure. Balanced tires about 3 times (both spin and static) before taking the tires off and finding a small ball of rubber made from loose rubber dust inside the tire.
Got my hands on a Maverick today at Priority Ford in Norfolk, VA. It was Lariat FX4. Looked great, even tho it hadn't been detailed yet. Drove it an liked it. Not just having to wait on my Hybrid that I ordered in early July.
I'm going to wait till I buy my truck and then I will see how far my Fordpass Rewards go to pay for the accessories I want. Will probabily save a few dollars at least.
My heart beat went sky high when I saw the email from Ford. Sure was cruel for them to sent it on scheduling Thursday when a lot of hopeful folks were waiting for a build date.
On my 2015 Ford C Max hybrid I have gotten as high as 68 mpg driving about 50/50 Hwy/city over approximately 200 miles. Usually average 44-46 most days over same course with ac on, 2 people in car. This car was rated 43/37/40 on sticker.
Need to experiment with various speeds to find your "sweet" spot, mine is between 60-65 mph on my Ford C Max hybrid and I have averaged 41.7 mpg over 6 yrs and 166000 miles.
Check out hitches on the U-Haul or Curt websites, they usually have installation instruction. Right now neither sites show any hitches for the Maverick.
