I think your right ,the “Lugging” is pretty noticeable if you have a light foot, the truck seems to shift to a higher gear to soon . What bothers me about that is the owners manual for my 2019 wrangler stated the 2 worst things for an engine were excessive Idling and Lugging.

Funny you ask ! I towed about 100 miles this weekend and watched the truck behave and I also wondered if that was what sport mode would feel like? And the down shifts were pretty good too , Ive owned standards most of my life and downshifts were well timed.
