I say yes...........I've climbed on top of it to touch up some paint on the rails without any issues. I can't recall what they say the weight limit of it is.

the oem switch, just moved it into the 12v outlet cover. cutting out the cover wasn't real easy, and have to take the switch apart to get it in the opening, then re-assemble and install but it's possible. I didn't "splice" into anything factory, just bought a plug that attached to the OEM light...
I didn't do strip lights, added a led light on each side of the bed, near the cubbies. Had a couple small wedges 3d printed that match the size of the lights so they are slightly turned and don’t point straight back...
