Car and Driver had this to report for their first dealer service:
Their second service took the total cumulative service cost for 26,000 miles to date to $274, including $40 to install a $34 cabin air filter...
As long as you're carrying uninsured/under insured coverage your insurance company will pay out the remainder and sue the other insurance company and/or vehicle owner to try to recoup the difference.
That's the great thing about fuel logs, you can see them for each trip/tank as well as the average, and people put notes in fuel logs, explaining things like trip conditions, speed, weather, and payload/towing. I keep two separate logs for all my vehicles on Fuelly, one for towing, and one for...
I think it sounds about right given the speeds and conditions, you posted results at the pump that are well within the distribution for the hybrids. You can see the "twin peaks" that form over 7+ million reported miles based on the two different engines, 38 mpg is actually the mode average for...
Those of you with the super mileage should really join Fuelly so the results can speak for themselves to a broad audience; the EcoBoost averages, Based on data from 35 vehicles, 1,730 fuel-ups and 552,007 miles of driving, the 2022 Ford Maverick 2.0 gets a combined Avg MPG of 24.76 with a 0.24...
Lithium batteries are really small, 1.1kWh of cells weighs about 20 lbs. plus the packaging that Ford tacks on for cooling and battery management. To give a bit of perspective the average electric bicycle battery is 750wh, that's almost as big as the Maverick battery.
Yeah, while the differential in economy will shrink at higher loads and speeds between the two power plants, it still will exist in most every case. Back when this thread was started, the engine choice was coupled with better capabilities on one side of the equation, which is no longer the...
I'm going to order the fluid and check/change mine when I get back from this trip... This is the kind of thing that should never be happening off of a production line.
afaik there are only three states where 87 octane is the "mid grade" and can be labeled as either midgrade or regular in the latter two - that's Colorado, Idaho, and South Dakota. 87 is regular unleaded everywhere else that I've seen. High altitude and low air pressure prevents knocking by...
The 2.5 has a timing chain. The batteries are cheap as chips and unlikely to need replacement for a long, long time, battery cell price for 1.1kWh of lithium is around $100 these days and dropping. Batteries last longer the colder they are stored, this is true of most chemical compounds, many...
I've been using them more and more over the years, especially now with the convenience of the Andersen makes using one so simple. I really like it especially for FWD or FWD-biased AWD like the Toyota's and now the Maverick has. I make sure those front fenders are sitting no higher than stock...
(Except AI companies, who have ingested pretty much all copyrighted content on the planet to feed their model training without asking for permission or paying any "rights holder" for the privilege.) (Except if you live in another country where the long arm of the law doesn't reach) etc etc etc...
I had mine open on a little sunny trip through the Tunnel of Trees up around Harbor Springs, granted it's a slower drive 35-55mph, but it was actually surprisingly quiet. It has a little fabric mesh gizmo that scoots up and blocks... bugs and wind I guess? Worked pretty well honestly!
I use the Andersen hitch, and I'll be using it on the Mav too, I love that thing!
Many moons ago we were on a family vacation in a '92 F250 Diesel towing a nice old (heavy!) 30 ft. Holiday Rambler TT. We had a truck cap on there, and it was ok, but still was quite the thing to pull around. Keep...
If they didn't play dumb to set up content for the channel, they'd probably be way less successful, and the content way too boring for most of us to have ever heard about! :)
I was actually really impressed with the Ford ACC on my trip yesterday, the smoothest I've used to date. My '19 Mitsubishi was harsh on the slowdowns, took too much notice of cars getting off the exits, and was too harsh on the throttle acceleration. This '25 Mav on Eco mode at Max follow...
I just drive mine without any care or special attention, but relatively little data so far. 36mpg first tank mostly around town, and just a touch under 30mpg on a 500 mile highway trip at 75mph+ in constant 15-20mph winds yesterday. Fuelly will tell the long term trends.
I think anyone interested in a 2.0 has a really good opportunity here if the Job1/2 have the port injection and no GPF, that should ameliorate some of the downsides of direct injection and avoid adding another maintenance item, too. I've personally had more than my fill of particulate filters...
It looks from the violin graphs above it seems like there are probably two types of hybrid buyers - on the XL and XLT trim, the average list price is significantly cheaper than the 2.0 models - this is probably skewed by the first group, looking to economize, private sales and particularly...
