Well, hells bells, I got a confirmation email from Ford last Friday saying my hybrid Lariat is scheduled for build the week of August 29. I called the customer service number and they reinforced this info. They told me they have all the components, including chips, to complete the builds. My...
Put $1,000 down and get everything in writing! Take notes n any follow up communication, record if possible. The dealer has no control on build schedules, but they do have control on their commitments, ie. Price, financing, so again, get it in writing!
I am also 72 and want co-pilot. I ordered Lariat hybrid 10/30/21. I spoke to Customer Service 3 weeks ago, got a VIN, build date 8/22, delivery date 9/9, California. I called again yesterday. The rep said they have the parts, including chips, to complete 2022 orders. Mine is still on track for...
Well said! I am 72, wife 71, and her 2019 Nissan Rogue has ADAS, and it’s a life saver. We’re healthy, cautious drivers, but we make mistakes at times (not stupid mistakes like texting, etc.), and the ADAS gives us an extra layer of safety. It’s the only option I ordered on my hybrid Lariat and...
I worked my way through college at the old Ford Highland Park, Michigan plant in the early 1970s. They routinely shut down for three weeks every summer for annual plant maintenance and model change over. As far as I remember, all the plants did this, and I suppose they still do. So, if they...
My dealer has reassured me several times that he will honor the quoted price and the 3 year 0% interest. I have the original agreement in writing, a $1,000 deposit, and I keep notes every time I speak with him.
Economies transition, industry and job requirements change, American industries and workers adapt. The oil workers maybe transition to building solar, wind turbines. Everyone is so jumpy about transitioning industries, even wanting to resist, lay blame. Did American blacksmiths and carriage...
That’s good. I ordered Lariat hybrid with only 360 option and I just got VIN and September 9 delivery date. I did not want to drop the 360 because at 72 years old I like that extra measure of safety.
I got my VIN, build and delivery date yesterday, August 22 and September 9 to California dealer. We’ll see. I trust the “special discount “ being offered after waiting almost a year ( October 30) will be substantial.
At this point, I would prefer waiting for a 2023 and a guarantee that their “special discount” means they are protecting my 2022 price quote. Also, when I gave my deposit 10/30/21, they were offering 3 years 0% interest. Hmm! I wonder what will happen to that
I got my email this afternoon also. I called my California dealer and told him I will wait for a 2023. He said there’s noth8ng to do til August, when I can come in and reaffirm (??) my order. I have my fingers crossed.
I got the same info this morning about an email coming. They said if I request a 2023, the price will increase. But if Ford bumps me, they will guarantee the 2022 price. I keep notes, not that it makes much difference.
My dealer said several times that he’s sticking to the MSRP. I asked about waiting for a 2023 and how affects the price. He said if I change my order to a 2023 model, there will be a price difference. If Ford initiates the change, the price will stay the same. I have my fingers crossed.
