I had a cracked windshield in my Genesis Coupe for a couple of years before I replaced it. Like yours, mine started on the passenger side. As long as it doesn't impede the drivers direct vision, it will pass inspection. Hopefully you banked $400 a year for those 15 years you beat the odds ;)
I chose not replace the rear brake/tail light bulbs with Lasfit LED's (if they even made them in the past, as they don't offer them now). I only replaced the reverse lights and the 3rd brake light with the Lasfits and have not had any issues with those. The halogens do a good job on the...
This has never been insurance claim worthy. As with any kind of insurance, if you can do it yourself for cheaper than the deductible, do it. I bought the add-on exclusively for the headlight assembly that costs into the thousands to replace ;)
4. Really bad luck
Over the years when my windshield developed a crack, I didn't bother changing it out until it impaired the driver vision and wouldn't pass inspection. Following that pattern, I've only replaced two windshields in almost 50 years of driving (one a Honda Accord and the other a...
Fill to first click, wait a few seconds and fill to second click, stop. I don't get much extra gas in the tank from the short extra pull; Maybe a half gallon. Never had a problem with any vehicle, and I've been driving for almost 50 years. JAT
Interesting read! I can't help but wonder about those "lifetime" projections. Seems as a vehicle ages, the number of recalls would drop precipitously. The vast number of recalls occur within the first 3 years, especially of a new model. Beyond that time most problems have been figured out ;)
Quick question: Have you had any problems with your CV axels to date? I have the same SST kit, but I'm hesitant to install it just yet due to some others reporting problems ;)
You must have short arms or legs. I can reach the antenna while washing the truck from either side. I can wash the rear window too. The only place that’s hard to reach is the very center of the roof. Sounds like you may also have flexibility issues. JAT 🤷♂️
My 2011 Genesis Coupe had 101,000 miles on it when I sold it. The original brake pads were still OK. My 2016 GC had 60K miles on it and the pads were fine. My 2018 Caddy has almost 80K miles on it, and will probably make to 100K before pads need to be changed. I do try to anticipate stops and...
LOL! Back when I bought a 1996 Ford Supercab 4x4, my mom accused me of buying it because she couldn't get up into it. Being the "good son", I bought a little stool that I kept in the bed just for her so she could get in my truck. Always take care of Momma ;)
