BEV weight is a problem slowly being resolved. All the trends on BEVs are headed in the right direction. The whole guardrail thing applies equally to American's obsession with huge vehicles as it does to BEV.
Charging: faster, more available. Kind of struggling to keep pace with sales growth...
I had a "snapping" sound on my driver's door when opened fully. I just stopped doing it, and now carefully open part way to the detents. I know that's not the right answer, so don't lecture me. Wind caught it yesterday and blew it full open - heard that snap.
One member here got that repaired...
Interesting that the poll does not reflect sales as described by Ford. The XLT has long been the volume trim. But with increasing fleet sales and buyer financial strain, the XL trim has been gaining recently.
I should dial that back by noting that Ford does not release sales by trim that I've...
I respectfully reject the premise of the question. First I wouldn't buy again today, I'd buy again next year. And I would buy the new Ford electric midsize and put gasoline in the rear view mirror.
But to respect the intent of the question, happy with my 100% reliable 2022 ecoboost and would...
Need to get a PT Cruiser badge for that. I like it. We need more adventurous colors on the road.
I know Slate is widely hated on this site, but one thing I'm looking forward to with the Slate is a universe of colors when people wrap it. Some will be good, some will be bad, some will be really...
3.5 years, 38,000 miles. Four minor recalls done free in my driveway, along with oil changes. No problems I can blame on Ford. One $600 problem I can blame on mice (free tow to dealer courtesy of Ford Roadside Assistance). Oh, and a free AGM battery replace under recall, in the driveway. New...
Never owned a BEV, but I definitely will. The thing I always remember is the incredible percentage of BEV owners who answer polls that they'll never buy an ICE vehicle again. It's some crazy number north of 90%.
Not any kind of BEV crusader here (ecoboost in my drive). But I can see the future...
Over on the Slate forum, some irate coastal elite called the Maverick "half assed in every way", or something to that effect. Then launched into a kind of funny tirade against the "stupids" that buy Mavericks (500,000 of us so far). I was expecting "deplorables" at some point, but it never came.
>> Maverick is kinda half-assed about everything
Wow. Just wow. I didn't realize my reliable, comfortable, affordable, highly equipped Maverick AWD was half-assed about everything. I'm gonna have to go out and have a talk with it about getting better. Maybe after these rain showers pass.
I...
I watched that video a few days ago. I was wondering if that vehicle even has a high voltage battery. They gave the impression it did not. It seems like it is literally an automotive implementation of the diesel electric locomotives we've had for 5+ decades now, only in cars and with gasoline...
YAY! After 48 months of consistently predicting Maverick sales could not continue excelling forever, I finally got one month right!
Seriously though, I don't pay much attention to a month or a quarter or two quarters. And it seems like Ford has endless demand levers to goose sales, so I figure...
Now that you mention it, it's exactly the color of the old arm band from my 82nd Airborne days. Which was frigging 53 years ago for me. Talk about ancient memories.
I'm a huge fan when Ford shakes up the color pallette. There are too many drab vehicles on the road. I wish Ford would bring two tone to the Maverick. I think this blue might look great with a black cab and black trim on the splash panels.
OP, industry rumours and leaks suggest you'll have a few no-gas Maverick options in the next few years...
AutoForecastSolutions says a new Maverick circa 2028. New platform, but most of us would guess it stays a hybrid and ICE. But who knows? Maybe something crazy like the Nissan Rogue series...
OP, curious about the trade value vs original price for your 22 ecoboost. Just the raw values, unadjusted for inflation, if you're OK sharing them. Wondering how a high-mileage 22 ecoboost did come trade time.
One comment about the tow package from a guy who ordered without it (and doesn't tow). It helps resale value. And it improves engine cooling and more, so you could argue it improves robustness even for those who don't tow. Kind of wish I'd ordered with it, even though technically I don't need it.
This thread left out a critical option. It should be "hybrid vs gas vs electric". You can't buy an electric small "truck" from Ford in 2026, but you'll be able to in 2027.
These tribal wars over powertrain choices are endlessly entertaining and fun, but maybe we should just all agree "to each...
I think the sales figures pretty much settled the argument over the Maverick. A half million sold so far, and going strong, even with a 30% price hike? It's safe to say that whatever any of us thinks about the Maverick, 130,000+ people a year like it enough to buy it.
