No, that is his decision. He runs Castrol full sythetic and a Motorcraft filter. Uses no oil between changes. Oil looks good when drained, and I cannot detect any fuel smell from it. Regular 87 octane fuel most all the time.
Since we have FACTS here instead of the usual BS opinions on an oil thread...
I would be very concerned with 5% fuel load in the oil! I would be very suspicious of an injector over fueling for instance. While I might run it 3000 miles on this oil, and after a drive long enough to come up to full...
"Brad and Christine" will chime in shortly. They were the first to install one here. Seems to be the best all around solution. We are hoping they will lower the price a bit as it shows to be quite a bit more money than the Roadmaster.
Do NOT buy a Blue Ox baseplate setup!!!
On my Cmax and the Maverick I have run the wire from the battery charge circuit of the motorhome directly to the battery ( in the Maverick I used the under hood jump post). I checked and confirmed the battery charge circuit from the motorhome is fused and good to go. I did add a diode on the...
Well since you mentioned it....There are 4 states the last time I checked that require a special license to drive a motorhome (or truck/fifthwheel rig) that has a GVWR ( or GCVWR) of 26,000 lbs or higher. Texas is for sure one of them. I will bet the majority of Texas Diesel motorhome owners do...
Not really complicated. Two of us here have thousands and thousands of miles flat towing Ford Hybrid vehicles. Both of us agree that you should mash the throttle pedal to at least get the ICE engine to run momentarily. Shift the shifter into reverse, drive, reverse, drive than back to park...
This is false and misleading to those with no towing experience. By law in most every state you MUST have auxiliary braking on a towed vehicle, trailer, etc. Tow dollys often have surge braking ( one reason they tell you to never try to back up....) and some have electric brakes. Flat tow...
Not sure what you mean by 4860 lbs? Maybe just the Maverick. But your original post shows you had well over the rated 8085 lbs total combined weight of trailer and maverick going down the road. Don't take it personal. NOT meant that way. My posts were as much about educating those on towing as...
If the Dealer installed the 12 volt plug to the Maverick 12 volt battery, that won't work. You must install a charge line to the motorhome. Easy to do. Most 7 pin round plugs on an RV will have a battery charge line connection already there. May even have power to it from the motorhome. You will...
Well, I hope you don't go through what I did. First thing to check is your clearance of the two tow bar arms where they connect and swivel. Go to a large parking lot. Start a turn, get out and check. As you progress with the tighter turn ( get out and check often) you will see what I mean about...
Actually both Roadmaster and Demco offer base plates with a normal spread distance. I think the Roadmaster is 26" or close to that. Demco is probably more like 24"
Both had NO problem fitting a base plate setup with a substantial crossbar and standard mounting distance for towbar arms.
I have used Blue Ox towing products exclusively for close to 10 years. With the Maverick I had the Blue Ox baseplate here at my shop before the Maverick was at the Dealer. Already had a Blue Ox Alpha towbar and Patriot braking system. Install went well, I took care to make the cutouts in the...
Well, after all the information and parts I sent to Blue Ox they denied my "claim". All I asked for was a refund for the purchase price of the Blue Ox baseplates and $39 to pay for the ebay covers I used to patch over the holes in the fascia that were ripped open when the base plate failed...
2023 Lariat Hybrid. 3700 miles since September. No issues. Not even with the entertainment stuff.
Brakes? Yes they are different from other vehicles. I owned a Ford Cmax for several years. They were more or less the same. I am used to them. Best thing you can do is apply the brakes fairly hard...
I don't care if you tow 8,000 lbs. Just don't hit me or my family with it if you lose control.
Ford charts say the only thing the 4K towing gives is the upgraded transmission cooler and upgraded radiator. Axle ratio is the same for all AWD EB Mavericks. There was a report that the transmission...
The "soft cover" for the lighting harness sounds good. But there is one problem with it. When you tow in the rain, that soft cover will absorb all the road grime ( you all know how dirty a toad gets when in the rain...) and become sandpaper!
There really isn't any way to totally eliminate marks...
