  2. Parking break fault with rotary shifter freeze

Well. Two weeks has passed. Is there an update to this issue? Steve
  3. So Many New Rules - Satire

Excellent observations, but I feel compelled to add. Not just Torx wrenches: Torx Plus! My local Harbor Freight doesn't carry them. Steve
  4. Hybrid Towing Capacity

    I want one! Steve
  5. Full off-road exhaust for my Maverick Tremor prerunner build

Split that exhaust just after the catalytic converter and run side pipes. Steve
  6. Lurching while stopped

That change you see at 30 seconds may be the ECU switching to closed loop mode once the O2 sensor heaters get them properly warmed up. Steve
  7. Lurching while stopped

Mine does that when the engine is cold and idle is a bit unsteady. So I start off in SPORT or TOW/HAUL mode so the engine will run and, once the engine warms up, no more surging and I'll switch back to NORMAL or ECO mode.. Steve
  8. MegaOhm external speaker bypass kit installed

Here's a bit of additional info for you. The Pedestrian Alert Control Module (PACM) is real close to the battery, and covers need to be removed to access it. Not sure what's easier: bypass resistor at the speaker or accessing this module for a switch or relay ON/OFF-with-bypass operation. If the...
  9. Anyone Have Problems After Latest Tail Light BCM Recall

Just a FYI - For anyone who has done this taillight mod; this mod totally disables the low-wattage filaments that are the subject of this recall. If you intend to have this recall done, you should put new bulbs in before taking your Maverick to the dealership for the recall work, otherwise...
  10. Anyone Have Problems After Latest Tail Light BCM Recall

Better to wait until you have your notification letter from Ford. It already shows up on my FordPass app, but according to several sources in the automotive press, Ford will notify affected owners by mail during the period 20 - 24 May. That's still a couple weeks away. If I let Ford fix this, I...
  11. I will be keeping my Maverick foreva or until the wheels fall off

Well, depending upon where you live and how much salt is spread on the roads in winter, your mileage may vary. Steve
  12. Updated with resolution: JCR Off Road Cat Skid Plate: Poor fitment/rattle

I just put one of these on my 2024 hybrid. I thought it would be a quick install. You know - just like the video. 'Twas not to be. Maverick was off the ground for a week for this. The included attaching hardware didn't fit my application, so I made my own from some 1/8" thick strap. My hybrid...
  13. Remove Tailgate?

See page 82 of your owner's manual. Get a PDF copy here. Steve
  14. When to do 1st first oil change? 2024 XLT Hybrid

Also, something not often mentioned in these threads: the oil filter has a bypass valve. When the oil is cold (cold engine) or is being pushed at a greater volume than dirty filter medium can pass, the valve opens to allow oil to bypass the filter medium. This maintains proper volume of oil...
  15. OEM hard tri-fold tonneau leaks badly

@HoiToid As promised, here are a couple pictures of my cover rail drain channel. 1st pic is at the tailgate end. Any water that gets past the upper seal runs into the drain channel following the orange line. As an aside, I also ran a bead of butyl rubber sealant between pickup bed and cover...
  16. Ford Power-Up software updates.

For a number of reasons that may or may not seem valid: 1. As @OleFordGuy noted, doing what I can to avoid the deep sleep situation that seems to afflict Mavericks, so eliminating as much unnecessary battery drain as I can. As time passes, if I feel a need, might turn on a thing or two to see...
  17. OEM hard tri-fold tonneau leaks badly

Oh. I read " OEM tri-fold hard tonneau" and figured it was that. Kinda dark and pouring rain just now, so I'll post a picture tomorrow of the tonneau side rail with built-in drain channel. Meanwhile, watch these. They show the drain and stuff. Steve
  18. OEM hard tri-fold tonneau leaks badly

@HoiToid "My cover doesn't have drain tubes though" That statement sent me to take pictures because you should have drains if you have the same style hard cover. Drain tube connection is at the front of both cover rails. These are pics of the passenger side. 1. The drain port. 2. Drain tube...
