Best vehicle Iāve ever owned. I put in my order, waited about 500 days and got it for the original MSRP. Paid cash so Iām quite happy with my retirement vehicle. Should be my last vehicle transaction ever.
Maybe we shouldn't be so fussy. After all, it it gets dirty it just shows that we use it a lot and like it. I remember a few years back, at work a guy had a new truck with a bed liner. He was bringing home a few steel tubes from company inventory and was carefully wrapping a rag around the...
I know it seems like forever. I put in my order early September 2021 and took delivery just this January. 502 days, about 16 months. Wait long enough, it will show up.
Buy yourself an oven bag to put your pizza in. Little Caesars used to sell them a while back. In addition to keeping the seat clean, it keeps your pizza warm on the way home.
I've found the best way to judge the accuracy of the readings is to check the mileage when filling up. Start with a full tank, drive however many miles you want, and fell it again. Do the simple math. I've found that the readings are pretty accurate overall. I used to do this every week with...
I removed the luxury package last year in around August after I was told it could push production into the 2023 model year. I finally did take delivery in mid January. Iām glad to get it, XLT 2.0 liter AWD. The heated seats would have been nice but oh well. I have never had them before living in...
I took the new Maverick on it's first cruise the past couple days. Just a short jaunt for an overnight at a local casino. All went well, and the gas mileage for the mostly highway drive was about what I expected. At first when I got going I thought I noticed more engine noise than I thought I...
The first truck I bought new was a 1986 Isuzu Pup. It did alright for just $5,000 brand new, but the Maverick is a far more capable truck in every way. The mileage of the Maverick is not even that far off what I got with the Pup. The poor little 2.4 Liter 4 cyl, 4 speed could just keep up...
I notice a lot of people post that their dealer has screwed them over on their order, not honoring the price given at the time of the order. I'd just like to add my experience, with New Brighton Ford in Minnesota.
I put in the order September 4, 2021 for my 2022 Maverick. I waited and waited...
I managed to get it open by gently tapping on the edge of the tonneau cover with my fist. It was just enough to break the thin film of ice. After I got it open I scraped off the ice with my fingernails and wiped the edge of the tailgate and rubber weatherstripping on the tonneau cover dry with...
Iāll give something like that a try once I get it open again. I could see where this could be a real problem if a person depends on the truck for their work. Fortunately Iām retired and I can still get in and drive with no issues. Life in the frozen north. Gotta deal with it.
Fortunately, itās not a huge issue at this time. I was kinda waiting for some cold weather issue to show up. Itās going to be above freezing tomorrow by a couple degrees. Iāll bet it opens then. I donāt want to pull too hard on anything least I do some damage. Iāve done that before with my old...
Just a note for anyone in a cold climate. It seems my tailgate is frozen shut after we had some wet snow, then a hard freeze last night. Typical Minnesota issues. I think the tonneau cover froze to the top of the tailgate. Iāll wait a few days, see if it warms up a little.
Just a week at the railyard? Mine took a full month plus. Everything was slow, but it did finally arrive. 501 days from when I ordered it to when I had it in my driveway.
