Am sad. I thought there was an auto lock feature. I have been trying to adjust to this as my previous car had this. Thank God for the app. Whenever I'm not sure I'll just pull out the phone and do a sanity lock command.
Is there a dealership in San Antonio that doesn't suck? I ordered an Area 51 First Edition Hybrid from Red McCombs and had a terrible experience. I wouldn't go back there... but where to go for the next Ford purchase?
Tracker finally worked today. I have a Hybrid FE with an order date of 06/25 and delivery of 01/21. I what really made a difference was that from the onset of the order, it was priority 02.
OP here. Went down to the dealership and the car should be in soon! I will write a tell all about my thought on this once the deal closes. The dealership is well aware that I posted this thread so I don’t want it to impact delivery.
I may have won but I really worry for others who may be taken advantage of this way. If it was not for this community my situation today would be no different.
Thank you everyone! I got a call earlier from the manager of the dealership. He apologized for the "confusion" that may have occurred and the "Texas Protection Package" has been removed. I will be heading down today after work to sign off on the new pricing.

Wanna be super clear that this is not expressed to me as a dealer markup, market adjustment, or anything like that. This is a package of things that they are requiring me to buy for $2500.
Thanks! I wouldnt say that they are messing with the discount it was just an aside comment that mentioned my military discount would in someway make the $2500 charge, $500 less.

Hostage situation is exactly what it feels like. For those on this thread that feel that I am just rolling over and accepting the situation, I promise you I am not. I'm doing what I can diplomatically to sort this out but the truth of it is dealerships are taking advantage of 6-8 month wait...
It's not so easy getting in touch with Ford but I did reach out to them over email and twitter. Will keep you all posted. Hopefully my post will get people to avoid the dealership for now.
I'm not at all emotional by this. Red McCombs feels like I'm talking to a wall. Whatever I say the terms don't change and im starting to wonder if all this trouble is worth having to look for another maverick or wait for another hybrid reservation cycle.
