Same here. In the mail. But I bought a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid and setup a ford pass account then. So I've been getting this type of mail for nearly 5 years now. My maverick still doesn't even show up for my ford pass account so it's defintely not tied to that ordering process.

The main benefit is warranty support and customer relations. However most dealers suck at customer relations and warranty repair. The carvanna model is such a fresh breath of air. Factory direct for new and carvanna style for used is definitely disrupting the industry. Evolve or go away.
I think we know the real answer is because the same vehicle can be sold with $5k markup if dealer orders or "customer " ordered with higher priority. It's always about the money. With your build it is more surprising though. Ford seems to prefer to make the high dollar ones first.

I wish I ordered with a dealer that knows how to exploit the allocation system like Long McArthur. 99% of the dealers have no clue. Hell, most still can't even figure out how to use email or text. No one wants to talk on the phone.

I ordered XLT with Lux in July. Was told Fall. In october told one just before mine was scheduled. It was delivered 2 weeks ago.
I still am not even scheduled. I'm in no rush but at some point I will buy a different vehicle and never deal with Ford or that dealership (12 brands) again.
