Have you tried letting someone who isn't familiar with hybrids drive your truck? It might be possible that in your efforts to maximize range are actually conflicting with the computer's algorithms.
Getting good range with hybrid is more about good braking, not as much about acceleration. Do you run the brake coach, and get 100% regen when stopping?
Two issues at play here, and you probably shouldn’t entangle them.
First off, if they made an honest error calculating the taxes, you really should pay up. People make mistakes.
Secondly, if they aren’t giving you the proper price protection, then hold their feet to the fire. Get help from...
Since the vehicle doesn't explode, and the wheels stay on, I'm guessing that Ford won't voluntarily issue a recall. Unless, of course, the NHTSA decides that it's a safety issue to have trucks randomly fail to start. Personally, I think a recall is justified, but I don't work for Ford or the...
I don't see a TSB about this on the NHTSA website. Do you have a link or anything that indicates that
"ALL? HYBRID effected"?
In case anyone is interested, here's a link to the posted TSBs on the NHTSA website:

You don't lose any power in eco mode--you just need to push the pedal a little harder to access it. Regenerative braking is also more active in eco mode, which I prefer.
I've tried both modes, and I actually prefer the eco mode. Smooth driving, and all the power when I need it.
So far, so good.
But let’s be careful not to minimize problems that quite a few members are experiencing. In particular, the early issues reported with the wiring harness may be the tip of the iceberg, especially over time. While I’m glad that my truck is running fine, I’m not about to be smug...
If you want a small truck with all the bells and whistles, go with the lariat lux Maverick.
If you want a basic big truck for more money, go with the Tundra.
I wanted a basic small truck, so I went with an XL Maverick.
Nope, never had that problem.
Sounds like an antenna might be disconnected or something. Probably time to schedule a warranty appointment with the dealer.
Why would it be more difficult to manage a Ford plant in Mexico? They've been making cars there for a long time, and the plant that makes the Maverick has won several prestigious quality awards.
No regrets with my hybrid. Efficient, peppy, and smooth.
I absolutely love the eCVT, which only comes with the hybrid. Ironically, I thought that I would hate it, since I’m usually not a fan of CVT transmissions—but the eCVT is a totally different beast.
As for reliability, the wiring harness...
