That was sort of my plan when I put the bronze rims on my alto blue back in fall 2021. But i didn't wait for my OEM tires to wear out. Instead I took them off with 40 miles on them and sold em for $450 on craigslist. Then bought new snow tires for $640 and threw them on the stock fx4 wheels. So...
Nah, you're good. Sportbikes do not have a 50/50 weight distribution front to rear. I'd guess the rear wheels are each carrying 100 to 125 lbs each tops. Don't believe me...throw each wheel on a burly bathroom scale. Like scales built for Walmart patrons.
I'd use some heavier straps though.

I guess I just don't understand the appeal of camping up on the roof of a truck. I have to pee at least once or twice per night and I imagine it would suck to use a ladder. For less than $1,000 I can get a very nice four person Backpackers tent and a top of the line inflatable camping mattress...
I took my truck to my local dealer for the towing software recall, I requested that they reset my cheapo Amazon tire pressure monitor sensors that i installed with my aftermarket wheels and they reset it while it was hooked up to the computer for the recall - no charge. They work perfectly now.
The headline of this post said OEM wheel specs but I haven't seen the weight of the 18" factory alloys. Has anyone weighed these yet w/o tires?? Thanks!
These are the 18" x 8"
(Sorry the truck is filthy, we got some solid winter driving in Truckee this past weekend)
This is my summer set. I have Vred Pinza AT/snow tires on my OEM wheels for winter.
This set has pirelli cinturato p7. They're a high performance summer tire.
