No intention of hijacking the thread but if you are looking for low-profile hard tonneau covers, check out the Lomax Hard Tri-Fold. That's what I am using and am very happy with it - I was also looking for a very low-profile option.

Does anyone have any experience if the module would swap into the XL, or are the harnesses difference between XL and Lariat?

I like it just fine but I only use it for casual activities - nothing too aggressive. It was a low-profile addition (didn't take up too much bed space); was an easy and direct bolt-on; and didn't interfere with the tonneau cover.
