Less work to just add a height adaptor then to have to unscrew the handle lock screw on the 1-UP and then reach underneath to tilt down the arms to a 45 degree angle to get to the tailgate.

Have you tried removing it and do some driving to feel the difference?

It is a Status 160, my second full suspension bike, I also have a Stumpjumper as well

The adaptor is to lower the bike rack 4" so I can still access the tailgate when the rack is stowed away and not in use.
