  1. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Maverick owner?

Yes technology has improved but build quality and materials are cheaper and more easily damaged. Safety is always a big deal but you won't see most of these newer vehicles around in decades. David Frieburger said. "They are mobility blobs." Sure you may walk away from a major accident but no way...
  2. This will be the last Ford I buy

Not the highest of all hybrids. The Tacoma is and has been overall for 2 decades. Trucks in general have some of the highest resale values.
  3. If you bought Maverick again today… Hybrid or EcoBoost

The only reason I bought a Ford was because of the Hybrid option. If not for that I would have purchased a midsized of another brand to save mileage on my full size truck. It has been great! Quality and reliability do worry me. Time will tell.
  4. UPGRADED to AGM Battery (and LARGER capacity) in Maverick Hybrid

Great post. FORD corporate thanks you for dealing with the unresolved issue and added costs. They've paid to replace a second battery for me. Also admitted no real resolution. I at the least appreciate the honesty.
  5. Surging when stopped. Anyone else?

You are probably right. But, sometimes the surging is pretty strong and I can hear a sort of clunk. Like something trying to engage and let lose. Usually strongest in the morning. It just a little unsettling and doesn't feel normal.
  6. Surging when stopped. Anyone else?

Well I'm back at the dealership for surging / lunging at first stop during first start up Dealer had it 2 days. They have consulted a second dealership. I told them I wanted it back for the weekend. Service writer said he'd get back to me on Tuesday or Wednesday. That the techs were discussing...
  7. This will be the last Ford I buy

I paid 33k. Took in for oil change at dealer. They robo texted me and asked if I wanted an offer to trade in. I said yes. They offered 24 to 26.5k They don't think much of their own vehicle. I said no it was a 21% decline in value. Lmao! They responded, I'd get more for a trade in. Pretty much...
  8. First Recall - Trailer Module- Anyone Else?

Had mine updated / done on Friday with an oil change. Added to my list.
  9. How the Hybrid and CVT works

No, Toyota did develop the tech and their first Hybrids where made in Japan in 1997. The Prius was released in the USA in 2001. When Ford was developing the tech, they realized to much of it was similar to Toyota's. In order to avoid a lawsuit Toyota agreed to license the Tech to Ford in...
  10. How the Hybrid and CVT works

Yes they do borrow from Toyota. Toyota's first hybrids were in 1997. The Prius and the Coaster first in Japan and then the Prius was brought to the U.S. in 2000 as the 2001 model year. Please fact check the whole history. I put it in my previous posts. They came to an agreement were Ford could...
  11. How the Hybrid and CVT works

Read my previous post to get the real, whole story. You can fact check it as well.
  12. How the Hybrid and CVT works

Sorry, I don't agree with that accessment. PAICE LLC claimed to create the hybrid technology. Toyota was in development and use. Ford was developing and they realized their version too closely matched Toyota's. PAICE LLC had a lawsuit against both Toyota and Ford. To avoid a lawsuit with Toyota...
  13. How the Hybrid and CVT works

It's funny you mentioned that. For some reason recently, I have been getting emails from my local Toyota dealer about coupons to do maintenance or work on my Maverick. Both the Toyota and the Ford dealer, I made the purchase at are owned by the same people. I haven't received anything from Frd...
  14. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

They just don't want to spend the time/money to get it right. Until it is a publicized issue affecting profits it won't go away.
  15. How the Hybrid and CVT works

Great video, thanks. I hope some of the auto techs watch this because some are misinformed. I see many posts with advice and opinions. Hope people are open minded. Great explanation and fact based.
  16. This will be the last Ford I buy

I agree, most manufacturers have recalls. There are statistics and consumers or NHTSA are responsible for initiating 70% of Fords. I think half are on 6 or 7 year old vehicles that have mechanical issues being caught up and the others are software in2020 to 2026 models. Quote from Farley. All...
  17. This will be the last Ford I buy

So does that mean you should just make lemonade.
  18. May the Fourth be with you.

    I'm sorry....have a wonderful day.
  19. This will be the last Ford I buy

Toyota and Honda are pretty green. Combined, they have fewer recalls than Ford last year. A total of 153, a new record.
