  5. Florida Sold: Steelies

Set of barely used but overly handled steelies. These were taken of a ā€˜22 Maverick with less than 1,000 miles. They were in my garage and weren’t packaged when the movers loaded them up. One has noticeable wear to the paint. They’re not perfect, but good for winter tires or regular use. $75
  6. Towing under 4K weight but over frontal surface area with a tall V nose trailer

The 2024 towing guide says the following: Frontal Area is the total area Limitations in square feet that a moving vehicle and trailer exposes to air resistance. The chart shows the maximum trailer frontal area that must be considered for a vehicle/trailer combination. Exceeding these...
  7. Towing under 4K weight but over frontal surface area with a tall V nose trailer

I read the article, but I also went to college for Aerospace Engineering, so I’ve got that going for me. I may be over thinking this and the frontal area is 56 ft^2 and would exceed the allowable by 40%. I’m interested in who the author is, because you can’t believe everything you read online.
  8. Towing under 4K weight but over frontal surface area with a tall V nose trailer

I'm not looking to calculate Cd, I'm just looking at the force generated. A lot of those are cancelled out, the only thing I'm looking for is what force would be generated by a 40 ft^2 area and then compare that to what I'd see with a sloped surface. We can use Cd for both and don't even need...
  9. Towing under 4K weight but over frontal surface area with a tall V nose trailer

So this is a Physics II problem. need to calculate the force on a flat surface then compare to that of the sloped surface. Need to calculate the x component of the drag of the triangular prism. WAG, you’re fine, but need to do the math to be sure

  11. Looking for Any Practical Experience...

I've towed a utility trailer loaded down with garden soil, castle blocks, and pavers just fine, of course it took a little more braking, but not too bad at all. Trailer and pavers weigh close to 1,700 lbs., not to mention the spare, pallet, and cargo net.

  17. I guess I can stop worrying now... first windshield rock chip today

If your insurance tries to send AAA autoglass, stay away... They were hell bent on replacing the windshield for one tiny chip. The inept tech made it worse so I told him to just leave it alone. I wish I would have insisted on Safelite up front. They came out and fixed the other chip without...
  18. Spied: Eruption Green 2025 Maverick XL on Steelies / XLT with New Grille / Lariat with New Wheels and Accents

Good grief that front bumper is just out of place. It doesn't look as bad in black, but the headlight filler "U" shape is horrendous.
