Ford uses a Stoplight switch on the brake pedal arm to both turn on the brake lights and to send a signal to the shifter lock on that center console. Could be an issue with either: the Stoplight switch or the actual locking mechanism in the shifter itself. Keep us posted. CMOS

#3 is a biggie. So many vehicles have all kinds of features and capabilities that I just don't need, but they all have them, and the cost reflects that. The Maverick is going to be a trailblazer due to its pricepoint. CMOS
