Howdy All,
I just watched a couple YouTube videos that described a "known issue" with all of the Ford 4-cylinder EB engines: coolant consumption due to the head-to-block interface.
Is anyone seeing this on this site?

Here's a very good video about GDI engines, detailing the good and the bad. He does review the issue of intake valve coking due to oil in the evap system. Take a look.
A GDI engine does have its benefits and downsides, the latter mostly driven by BS EPA requirements by the Feds...
I predict the Ranger will be in trouble, very soon. Too close a cost to an F150. No real perception of "value" by going to a Ranger as does the Maverick. There's really nothing else out there like the Maverick with the same capabilities, and the current price point.

The Ranger IMO is priced too high, so it makes sense that the Maverick is taking a bite out of Ranger sales. Just for grins I priced out a Ranger on order - at $39K, no thanks.

Excellent video.
So here's my question: We know thee manufacturers know of this issue (intake valve coking). We also know there's no magic preventative, other than a good catch can, so IF our motor has issues with the intake valves in this manner, what's the remedy?
Meaning, if we take out...
I am ***IN*** the semiconductor industry. I deal directly with wafers and individual die.
The semiconductor shortage will not even begin to get better until late 2023. I predict a normal supply chain of semiconductors by late 2025.
Buckle up. We're in for a long wait.

That's what I did. I wasn't sure that my local dealer here in the greater Houston area was intimately familiar with the ordering process, so I'm going with LM. Spoke to "Dan" there. Super nice.

Have to comment on that comment: It's waste of money to change Full Synthetic oil at 4K miles. This is based on my experience in diligently using oil sample testing from Blackstone labs.
Example: I used to have an F150 with the 3.5EB motor. Ran the oil to 8K miles and sent in a sample...
@MLowe05
Did you get your Cyber Orange Maverick yet? If so, why is the color called "Cyber Orange" when every pics I see looks yellow?
CMOS (going to order a Cyber Orange 2023...)
Seriously, based on real oil sample testing I have been doing for almost 20 years, that's a waste of oil.
I was running full syn in my F150 3.5EB and ran the oil to 10K once, then had it tested by Blackstone Labs. They said, "you can go longer".
I opted to change it between 8-9K just to be...
