  1. Engine cleaning

I do this to both my cars annually and there ain't nothing that will touch a small steam cleaner from Harbor Freight, it was around $89 with a coupon, 10 yrs old and still works perfectly. Not much there to break. Cover any electrical parts loosely with plastic bags and the heat from the steam...
  2. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

Buddies and I camped in tents for 20 yrs off of motorcycles. Camping for us dictates having a bathroom/shower, with at least some level of security. Those campsites used to be $25-$30 to pitch a tent. After COVID, those prices have gone up to $40-60 for a campsite almost everywhere...when...
  3. 2022 Hybrid Emission Recall 23E09

My dealer said some dealer techs did a sloppy job trying to fix the plate and FORD sent my dealer an alert..."too wait for the correct replacement plate"., don't try to jerry-rig a fix. Been 8 months since the recall...my dealership is still waiting for the part. Would be best for Ford...
  4. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

Thanks. Several elementary and high schools use my book as part of their American history classes. The e-book has 700+ pictures that students tend to get the most benefit from. Have had several hundred history teachers that have used my GPS files to travel parts of the L&C Trail.
  5. 3d printed some custom accessories

Someone should 3d print the below "safe" for the Maverick tail gate insert. Just the big black tail gate insert and cap pieces 3d Printed. People can buy their own chrome bar and lock. Does need a hole to insert the bar. There's no good place to hide a key in the Maverick. Most Maverick...
  6. finally here!

I do regret not spraying the wheel wells, especially under the bed with bedliner or something to protect the metal under the wheel wells when I took delivery. That area is prone to wet mud and crap being thrown up and sticking there. I will spray some kind of protection on my next Maverick...
  7. Chips/damage to Lariat windshield laminate coating

No issues with my windshield...but on the exterior I only use a soft spouge and blue Dawn soap...and a water hose to wash it off. Just did a 7,000 trip out west and 1,000+ miles of gravel/dirt roads and windshield washed off like a new one when I got home. Have never had the commercial...
  8. Rust

Had similar problem with my Ranger bed with a drop-in. So Maverick has a SIBL....(LineX) so much better, and seems bullet proof after 2 years.
  9. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

On the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 2003 I attempted to follow the 3 reenactment boats. Reenactment boat and crew below leaving St Charles in 2003. . I followed the boats for a few days but the boat crew, after trial runs of volunteers, eventually could not row the big...
  10. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

Remember Hermann well, Private Colter of the Expedition is buried at nearby New Haven, MO. L&C camped in Hermann in today's "River Front Park" rowing a 20,000 pound barge upstream on the Missouri River. Hard to believe but 220 yrs ago, only about 100 US citizens lived on the west side of the...
  11. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

You should make a Maverick Trip to Patit Creek Camp (replica of a L&C Campsite for 33 soldiers, 40 horses and 1 big dog. Seaman). Near Dayton, Washington....well worth a little adventure. One of those places very few people know about...it is at an actual L&C campsite. The display is made of...
  12. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

I too have done much of the Lincoln, all of the Pony Express Trail and most of what is left of Route 66. Your area if full of historical highway, ie Lewis & Clark Trail. I have spent many hours up and down the Columbia River...and never get enough of the L&C campsites on the river. I have a...
  13. Velocity Blue Hybrid on a Lewis and Clark Adventure (21 day, 7,200 miles)

Been a Lewis and Clark fan for years and completed their Trail several times and a Velocity Blue Maverick looked like a good new set of wheels compared to my motorcycle. Gasoline mileage and CarPlay GPS screen was the deciding factors. Have all the GPS coordinates for the Lewis and Clark...
  14. Stealing Tail Lights

F150 Trail lights are reportedly $5,900/Each.....so that makes them attractive to a thief.
  15. 2022 Hybrid Emission Recall 23E09

My dealer says that has changed and Ford Corp's direction was a new plate. Apparently some dealer tech's were drilling holes and causing problems and not correctly fixing the problem but making is worse..Ford wanted it fixed correctly by the book, with a suppliers new plate.
  16. MRT Hood Struts Opinions?

In 2 years of ownership, I've opened the hood 3 maybe 4 times. Very light and stick works so easily. Tailgates on the other hand are well worth it.
  17. Anyone have their status go from built to shipped after 12/24?

This was pointed out 2 yrs ago on this site when I waited for my Maverick to ship. Rail companies deliver empty rail cars to the Ford Plant. From Mexico, train cars are loaded based on destination, and RR's need to fill up train cars with vehicles before departure, even if a car is delays for...
  18. 2022 Hybrid Emission Recall 23E09

The fire issue recall is a metal plate that needs vent holes (extremely minor recall) but I've heard there have been 3 reported fires out of 30,000? I do keep a gasoline fire extinguisher in the Marvrick. Ford is probably prioritizing this part for new production trucks. My Dealer says...
  19. 2022 Hybrid Emissions Recall - 23E07

My Ford dealer is really high tech. Call them and they instantly knew me based on phone number and that I had 4 recalled to do. Provided an Uber driver to take me home and pick me up. 2 hrs for software update…engine fire recall since July is still awaiting parts.
  20. Did you all place order on MSRP price?

When ordering a Maverick you can order from TimBuckToo Dealership but have it shipped to a local dealer in your home town...it's called getting a Courtesy Delivery (usually $200-250)..but in his and my case we preferred to drive...my airfare was $300 and drive was 690 miles.
