@Haha48 yea I too have ripped some holes into that felt padding at the bottom by scrapping over some rocks.
Not sure what a good way to repair it is.
I was thinking of buying some heavy duty felt pad and super glew it on. š
@ladyhawkgt is correct. That info was added afterwards. It was added by the Admin though, not me. I think the admin modifies the original post with extra info from the thread when the post is linked to the front page (which i think is a good thing).
@clavicus
I use some heavy duty, weather proof velcro underneath the tonneau cover to attach the footbox.
Water drips from the tonneau cover onto the footbox fabric and then onto the ground.
I have only tried this in little bit of rain. May not hold up in very rainy weather.
@rclee
I'm traveling alone, no other vehicles.
And yea that is the scary bit some times.
My average MPG over the 7k miles I have is 38.5 MPG.
That is 90% highway and dirt roads. 10% city.
@Luckynail
i went with KB Voodoo. They have a rack that fits the Maverick perfectly. No holes required. They also have clamps that go around the tonneau cover.
It is a bit expensive (there are cheaper ones I saw on here), but I did get a small discount to get closer to the price of other...
It is definitely ācompactā. Lets just say that š. That bothers me a little less.
What is more challenging with a setup like this is that you are very exposed to the elements.
If it is dusty, hot or cold outside, youāll be experiencing that fully.
i think a van or RV gives a bit more of a...
Another option is to sleep in the truck bed and create a āfoot boxā.
I used a weather proof cover for outdoor furniture and cut of some excess fabric.
I rarely sleep that way though. Only if I arrive somewhere too late and donāt want to setup the tent.
@Veritech
This tent also has a ālounge chairā mode.
so I have that setup in this video.
but yes. The double version of the tent takes up most of the bed. There is also a single version that takes up half.
.
@skinnyboy i couldn't agree more. I even brought the information from this forum with me and told them to just do the software update. But nope.
And this is a big Ford dealer in Bay Area.
Sigh.
But I'll find a dealer who will take it more seriously.
I was planning to wait a few more weeks so...
@ladyhawkgt
This is a hybrid XLT, no AWD.
Standard tires (I'm burning through them before getting some off-roady)
I've gotten stuck in sand a few times :LOL:
Iāve been living in my Maverick for the past 2 months. Travelling California, Nevada and Utah.
Love the truck. Only wishlist item would be AWD for hybrid.

@Flomounier1 would you be willing to share the name/location of your dealer?
I see you are near LA, which is close enough that I could maybe try your dealer to do the software update.
I tried the trickle charger but it couldnāt keep up with how fast the battery drains.
Now I have installed a kill switch on the battery to āsolveā the issue. That is because Ford dealer claimed they cannot reproduce any issue with the battery. (Which is silly because I can measure a large...
@Nighowl2000 thanks for the suggestion. Vehicle is currently parked in dark garage so donāt get much sun.
@DiveBombDom what is a āharnessā exactly? Part of the battery?
Iāll add my hybrid xlt to the list of cars with this problem :(.
Although mine hasnāt died completely yet, if I donāt drive it for about 24 hours I get the āDeep sleepā message. The voltage after the last message was 12.52. So far I have had 4 of these messages in the last two weeks.
