Read several people on here have a rodent nest in their truck or chew wires and finally had mine.
It decided to try to make a nest in the air filter in the air fan.
It chew on the air filter and deposited a bunch of fur and chewed up plastic bag material. It chewed a bit on the black material...
I can see exceeding the official ratings that all is out the window in regards to possible damage. But can you provide some actual information on the “massive lifespan reduction” on the powertrain when staying within the specs of Ford?
It seems to me that Ford would splatter that all over their...
Been towing my Scamp 13ft with zero problem fulltime for a couple months now. Barely know its there (other than MPG dropping to about 25-26 mpg).
My trailer weighs about 1550 lbs when empty. But I usually have the water tank filled and a bunch of stuff in there. So probably closer to 1700 lbs...
max towing is 2000 lbs. scamp 13ft is 1550 lbs plus some extra weight for water and gear inside it. Should be fine right?
i have had no issues. Can barely notice it is towing it. Of course fuel MPG goes down. Mine settled on about 25-26 MPG when towing the Scamp.
Been living in/with my Maverick since Jan ‘22. There have been a few issues that the early Mavericks had, but still appreciate the truck.
The Hybrid engine is particularly handy for me since I can plug my trailer into the truck-bed power outlet to power the trailer inside outlets (eg for...
I have replied to your message but will add some info here:
GFC camper integrates nicely with the Maverick. Everything is holding up great so far. Enjoy the extra space the cabin gives me.
i enjoy rooftop camping during good weather conditions. But as the weather became worse during the winter...
That is a pretty silly comment. There are plenty of us that take the Maverick hybrid off roading. Number one is driving skill. Number two is good tires. Number three is AWD.
I do agree FWD is not good for beach sand. So if that is your main reason to get AWD it is a good reason.
That is awesome @Packer Bill. The 16 foot seems ideal for two people and when you have a vehicle that can handle the weight. I bet you are going to love it.
The cabin with the tent closed is about 95% waterproof. During heavy rain a little bit of water drips into the side which then drains out of the truck bed via the holes in the bed.
Sufficient for my needs and better than I expected.
When open the tent portion is fully waterproof. So you won’t...
California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Texas, Arizona.
Late spring I want to go Arizona, Colorado, Montana then up to the arctic of Canada (Alberta, NWT, back via coast of BC)
The camper is powered via the 7 pin connector that connects the camper to the truck. So the truck powers the 12v camper battery.
I do also have a 100w solar panel on top of the truck. It currently chargers a lithium battery I use for my laptop and phone and Starlink. But I am thinking of...
Fuel efficiency?
I probably made back 1/4 of the cost of the trailer in one year driving the Hybrid vs the eco boost. I also dont need 4k towing since the trailer is 1550 lbs.
AWD would definitely be nice.
So far it has been really nice. It is very cute and cozy and functional. Of course it is very small. Living in it with more than one person would probably require you to spend most of your time outside. 😬
Scamp trailers also seem to hold their value pretty well so that is a nice bonus.
The...
