Well I downloaded the program and ordered a cable. Will take a couple of weeks to get the cable but I will try it and see how it goes. Thanks for posting this!
I read the thread and am impressed. I have a XLT hybrid lux with the smaller screen. If I buy a FORScan cable, license FORScan, and follow your instructions, I can get the speed limit signs on my Maverick? That would be great.
I am in Germany so the round signs in km/hour would be what I am...
If it comes back on, I will bite the sour apple. :)
IMO a lot of the value of these forums is to exchange ideas between do it yourself types of people.
I don't have unlimited money or unlimited time, but if I posted here and found out it was a sensor issue and I could buy a new one and replace...
So I took my little cheap OBDII reader, hooked it up, and hit "clear codes". It said it failed to clear the codes and the engine light stayed on.
I then turned the heater on full blast to get the gas motor to start and cleared the codes again. Same error.
I turned the truck off, unhooked the...
I am not really sure. I haven't been in any as I lived here without a car for quite a while. Come to think of it, I don't really think I have seen auto parts stores like in the states. The culture here seems to be to pay someone else to do something that isn't your job. I can't even wash the...
- I will probably have to take time off work.
- I may have to figure out how to get home from the dealer and back to it whenever they are done.
- My German is not good.
- My general experience with any service industry stuff in Germany has been poor.
- My general experiences with car dealers in...
I have owned a hybrid maverick for 4 months and almost 4,000km. I have experienced some of the other issues I read about:
- Radio freeze (1 time)
- Brakes not stopping and then jerking to a stop when driving very slow (frequent).
- A fairly loud clunk sound when almost stopped (1 time)
But I...
I would have liked adaptive cruise control and the better radio but I didn't like the back window or the interior colors on the Lariat so I went with XLT.
Not unhappy with it.
It does it without complaining. I opened mine up the other day (on the autobahn in Germany in a non speed restricted zone on the way back from Czech) and it climbed steadily to 176kmh (109mph) but there was wind noise, I wasn't in a hurry, and I really didn't want to drive that speed. They...
I followed the link and called tonneaufactoryoutlet.com
A real person answered the phone and told me that they won't ship to my APO box and that shipping to my German address would cost as much as the cover itself. I will have to find another seller. I think I could have it shipped to...
I am shopping for a tonneau cover for my Maverick. I really don't like tonneau covers but I am probably going to do a couple of trips where I will have luggage in the back that I would like to stay mostly dry. I am also in Germany and we get a little snow. When I drive in the alps, it is...
I just got my XLT hybrid a few weeks ago. I drove it 2 hours home from the dealership and then a little bit around town (300km total). I filled it up before I drove across Germany and into Czech and saw that my first fill up was 5.8 liters/100km (40.6MPG) hand calculated which is pretty close...
Understood. I meant that the Ford techs should be doing something similar. I didn't mean you should have to do it on a brand new vehicle. Re-reading it now, I didn't write it clear.
Hey, I've got a crazy idea.
Hook a known good battery to it.
Disconnect the positive cable and hook an ammeter in line.
Check reading.
Pull first fuse.
Check reading.
Pull second fuse.
Check reading.
Pull third fuse.
Check reading.
Continue until reading changes.
Check what that fuse controls...
I picked my Maverick up the other day after a 9 month wait. I opened the tailgate. It weighs like 2 lbs! I have no idea why people want a "tailgate assist" for this? It is like a "mailbox lid assist" in my mind.
I mean I am all for whatever makes you happy but it seems super silly to me.
Not much to add from me. Only thing I can say is I am ready to slow down or stop whenever a jeep pulls out in front of me because it is about 50/50 that it is going to break down :)
