We offer 87, 91, and 93 OCT tunes. The 91 OCT map is likely what you'll want to run if you're in the SW, as that tends to be the highest octane available in that part of the country.
Glad you're enjoying the tune! Something to note that is consistent with your initial impression of installing the tune and going for a quick drive around the block:
The multiplier associated with the octane learning system (Knock Octane Modifier, or KOM) will be limited to 0 until coolant...
Stage1 93 OCT/COBB Sport TCM calibration is good for a 5.50 0-60 on a bone stock/full weight AWD Maverick XL. We've had some bad luck with track closures around Austin - Alamo City in San Antonio went bankrupt, and Little River Dragway hasn't had any test and tune events in a few months. We...
As others have mentioned, no known issues. I added in cruise control buttons to my personal XL Mav and have installed/uninstalled/reflashed my truck dozens of times.
Reflashing the ECU shouldn't have any impact on the other modules in the vehicle outside of a reset. Reach out either via DM or through our support channel ([email protected]) if the behavior persists.
Try waiting longer than 15 seconds (go for 45-60s) with the key off after a reflash...
We periodically update our existing OTS maps and will explore expanding the number of maps we offer to support aftermarket parts, but these changes are not specific to customer vehicles. We direct all custom tuning to our Protuner network, where you can refine and update as much as you like.
TBD - parts like an intake, intercooler, or AOS are possible, but a downpipe or turbo kit are unlikely. Our primary development focus on Maverick is software/ECU-based features.
Power gains on 87 OCT are pretty modest, just a few WHP and WTQ and some smoothing of the power curve. But the 87 OCT map is offered with all three of our transmission tunes that offer greatly improved driveability and decreased shift time for some performance gain. We don't advertise any fuel...
Tremor and overall 2023 model year support is in the works! We're not expecting any significant changes in the engine or transmission calibration, but we still need to support all of the unique strategies and ROM IDs for each model year and sub-model. Supply chain issues over the last few...
We have specific maps for each octane level - if you decide to fill up with regular, use the Accessport to flash to the 87 OCT map. Each reflash takes about ~3 minutes.
The factory octane learning logic is still active in all of our OTS maps, but we advise customers to not treat it the same...
To avoid unnecessary headaches, I would recommend uninstalling that eliminator device prior to flashing the ECU with the Accessport. You can use the Accessport to disable the Auto Stop/Start feature once installed via the 'Tune' --> 'Adjustments' menu!
At the moment, our OTS maps will not modify factory functionality of traction control. It'll take more investigation to see what sort of TC/stability control system changes are possible within the ECU - other modules that we don't reflash, like the ABS module, likely play a role as well.
Upshift schedule tables determine shifts based on accel. pedal position (APP) and transmission output shaft speed (OSS). In normal, tow, and snow/wet drive modes, you'll only see a shift from 1st to 2nd if APP is between 0 and 6%, and OSS is below 350RPM (which, depending on final drive and...
Not yet, but we're working on a solution! We've implemented a completely software-based transbrake on 6R80 and 10R80 applications - really cool set of features and safeties with that system. We'll see just how much launching abuse the 8F35 can handle and will report back.
All drive modes will work just as they did from the factory. Drive modes will only be changing, at most, 3 different things:
1. Throttle translation - how sensitive, touchy, or lethargic is throttle response
2. Transmission shift schedules, torque converter schedules - when do upshifts and...
Thanks for your business on the Focus platform! So far so good with the 8F35. We've accumulated 10's of thousands of miles between the company Maverick, my personal Maverick, and remote tester vehicles with our tunes. There were some initial transmission calibration changes that were necessary...
