Now that this thread has made it through all of the useful content I'd like to say that every time I see the thread title I get the milkshake song stuck in my head.
this is like when I bought my 2002 jetta vr6 12v and then the 2002.5 jetta vr6 was 24v with 25 more horses!!! SOB!!!! I didn't know they were going to change the engine.
I used to see this on my 02 jetta VR6 later in my ownership of it because my commute to work went from 20 miles to about 5 miles so the car was barely warmed up by the time I got to work. freaked me out until I found out what it was.
this is my first truck so maybe this is a common truck thing. normally my mav is parked in a garage but the other day it actually got snowed on. when I went to clean the snow out of this area I realized I'd have to slide the wipers up the windshield a little bit to flip them up. weird...
I find the OEM tires slip very easily. I did recently drive in snowy conditions with them and I had to be a lot more careful compared to my other vehicles in similar conditions. I still managed the 100+ mile drive in the snow without any close calls but if I needed to climb anything remotely...
yeah, my loops seem to stay open enough that I've never had an issue. if I was struggling to get them to open up every time I can see why something like this would be helpful.
I think I've opened the hood on my mav maybe 5 or 6 times in the past couple of years. once to check oil. a few times just to look around. once to change the oil (the oil has been changed more than once, just not by me). once to add washer fluid.
are you guys checking the oil level a lot...
