  1. One year living on the road with my Maverick

Great question. The tent-on-truck setup is great when you are ā€œoverlandingā€. You travel a lot, exploring new areas every (few) days and you just need a quick place to setup and sleep every night. That is what I did for about 10 months and it was good for that, but it is still a tent. You don’t...
  2. One year living on the road with my Maverick

There are plenty of 4 to 7 pin converters. If you don’t need to activate the brake on the trailer just buy one of those and you are done. I definitely want to activate the trailers brakes though and it is also required by law for trailers above 1500 lbs in most states.
  3. One year living on the road with my Maverick

28-30 ish but this is hard to measure exactly since I idle a lot standing still while the Maverick provides power to the trailer. Which distorts the numbers a lot since you are using gas without making miles. This is however another big benefit of the Hybrid Maverick. It will automatically...
  4. One year living on the road with my Maverick

I am coming up on one year living on the road with my Maverick. Started with a basic cot-tent on the back, to the beautifully engineered GFC camper and now pulling behind that my cozy Scamp trailer. i have exactly 30k miles on the truck. The stock tires have another 10k in them before they...
  5. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

For those wondering about ā€œwaterproofā€ I put it through the car wash yesterday and no water got into the cabin. I am really surprised. I was expecting some water to go down the sides of the truck bed and drain out of the bed. But the walls and floor were dry. So i expect this to do well in...
  6. MPG in Highway at > 70?

The MPG for my Hybrid drops noticeably above 60-65. I haven’t tracked the number for that speed specifically. I only track my total MPG (36 ish). But you will notice the hybrid benefit is much better below 60 MPH.
  7. Maverick Demographics

I am 45. Wanted a truck for many years, but couldn’t ā€œdo itā€ due to the gass guzzling, polluting nature that came with them. They were often also way bigger than I needed. Maverick has hit the mark for me. Grateful Ford finally made a truck for me. šŸ˜‚
  8. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

i only own one for two days so I can not speak for how it holds up over time, but 100% agree with this so far. I am incredibly happy with the quality, extra room and design of this camper. Lots of little details that show GFC cares and uses their own campers. The bed is super roomy. The white...
  9. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

    It sits on the inside.
  10. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

I can try tomorrow. I personally find it very comfortable, but I have read some people fond the mattress too firm. (Perfect for me though).
  11. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

Starts at $7700 USD. Mine was $8300 because I added the rear window and roof top bars. Quite A bit of money, but if you live in your truck all day every day it is still a very cheap option. šŸ˜…
  12. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

It is attached with four clamps to the inside of the truck bed. You have to unscrew those to take it off. Similar to taking of a truck rack. Of course the camper with the roof top tent is pretty big. You’d need two people for sure. Maybe more.
  13. GFC Go Fast Camper installed on my Maverick Hybrid

I picked up my GFC today in Montana. Very lovely experience. The GFC crew is super friendly and gives you a fun demo once your camper is installed on your truck. i have been living in my Maverick for about 7-8 months now and this camper is so fancy and roomy. It is only first day but totally in...
  14. Compensation from Ford for hybrid defects

@Lucarl @ychuck46 Same issue as me. When I brought it into a Ford dealer in California they kept it overnight and claimed everything was working as normal. Pretty frustrating since I can reproduce the problem super easily by just using an off the shelf voltage meter. I’m hoping that after...
  15. Tracking DEAD HYBRID Mavericks Reported Dealer Solutions / Fixes ...

Anyone have a dealer in California that has experience doing this repair?
  16. Most miles racked up so far?

I have 20k on my hybrid xlt. (And i have been living in this truck for 6 months). Only problem I have so far is the wire harness problem (which I have no gotten fixed yet. Using a kill switch at the moment).
  17. Maverick Overland Build w/ Go Fast Camper | Fifteen52 | Toyo AT

yes I am coming to GFC for the install! (First slot was mid-Oct though) What did you do for the rooftop antenna? I assume it needs to be taken off / replaced or does it fit under the rooftop tent?
