OK, that's not DAC which is Digital to Analog Conversion - it's mp3 decompression. My understanding is that the majority of the loss of audio quality is in the compression process. Not sure that one device would have a huge difference over another as to decompression. DAC's are reported to...
I'm not understanding. USB doesn't transmit analog signals, it is only digital data that is transmitted.
Do you mean that even when the phone is connected via USB, the phone is still wirelessly transmits analog audio?
Didn't know I wanted that yet, but now I do. Would love a low cost OBD2 adapter that is easy to use states things in plain English. Newer cars have sooo much electronics, it's needed for so many problems.
Android is the same on a tablet, like a phone without a sim card. It triggers AndroidAuto. I've heard Apple's integration is a bit better, but I've never taken a bite;)
What's bad about the factory radio?
But if your device is connected by USB, instead of Bluetooth, there is no analog path only digital. So wouldn't a phone/tablet connected by USB also get the better DAC quality on the Maverick?
hmmmmm
Can we stream from a phone/tablet over USB as if the device is a USB storage device?
Where did Ford announce that they are planning to reduce output for Feb - May?
And last I read, Ford was scheduling at most 40% hybrid. Did that switch too are is it a typo?
A Garmin would likely cost a lot more, be in an inferior location, and not take advantage of the Maverick's built in touchscreen with optional voice control. It seems the Garmin approach is the extra work, for an inferior result.
While all of the posts are appreciated, it seems many are stuck...
Awesome work, aesthetically consistent. Like some have said, wouldn't be a choice for me. But it would not just turn my head, she would make me stop an look.
You could do a series of posts on each detail, even that box in the bed.
But that moon roof is over the top! (see what I just did...
George Soros is rumored to do in on a national level, but instead of the trouble of buying up properties and paying real estate taxes, he just trades their currencies. Pointing this out used to make one a "Conspiracy Theorist", but now we have John Kirby splaining us that Russia is about to do...
Big problem w/ the electrical system, hybrid have lots of complex computer controlled stuff, but something is NOT wired right and 12V at enough amps can kill, not to mention start a fire.
Look into other options for the short term, this could take a while.
How would a dealer tech debug this on...
You are almost answering the question. Are you currently using Android Auto on a Maverick?
For someone without a smart phone, what price do you suggest is minimum for an Android Tablet that is not junk, but would give all those benefits for "Zero effort".
Phone?????? The thread is about a 'tablet'
But to answer: I rarely take my phone with me. Maybe people would be happier living that way? Having said that, no my phone is not a smart phone.
That's the point - not a phone. A cheap tablet - with wifi in your driveway to download maps if...
Well yes, that is exactly the point. Get a small Android tablet, about the size of an old iphone, and just leave it plugged in. There currently isn't any NAV in most Maverick's as far as I know, but they all how an 8" touch screen with AndroidAuto & "iphone-auto" built in.
Fraud? Fraudulent Inducement? Unjust Enrichment? How about simple replacement cost at current market value? But I'm no lawyer
Bad publicity? Adverse Consequences from Ford Motor Company - the place that decides which Dealerships can continue to display a Ford logo? Yeah, this is much more...
Well that is the solution for when the Maverick's screen dies, and Ford wants us to spend $3K for a new one.
I'm talking about a $50 mini tablet, for offline NAV and tunes I could drag n drop from my PC.
I'll want to use the Mavericks screen, maybe even steering wheel buttons if they work.
