I didn't say I was judging the trailer being "ok" to tow solely based on rear end squat. It was just a fun fact. I am fully aware of how the math works.
Good thing I know what I am doing isn't it? i also made sure all appropriate safety measures were added, in place and fully functioning. I also have nearly 20 years of public safety experience under my belt. The handful of times I did it, didn't hurt a soul.
I will politely disagree. I have towed a travel trailer several times with my Maverick Tremor and it was slightly overweight. It didn't look or behave any differently, other than MPG. than one that was not overloaded. Heck the squat wasn't even all that bad. The rear of the truck sat about 3/4...
I just wish there was an all digital cluster out there that would accommodate all the extra features of my Maverick Tremor into it without breaking the bank, or the truck. LOL
That's very nice work. At one time, I had swapped an all digital cluster from an Escape and encountered the same issue you did. With not being able to use any of the drive modes and the fact that I have a Tremor, I went back to the factory cluster because I lost WAY too many functions. However...
Nope because the JJC brackets for the Tremor use the tow hooks as the mounting point. They are as solid as can be. I also bought them over two years ago so I have had them a while and I have no idea what he makes now.
Agreed. I added some additional auxiliary lighting from Diode Dynamics and I got all the brackets from JJC-LLC when he had his own website, because I offroad my truck often, and the additional lighting has served me well living in rural North Dakota.
It is 1000% worth it. I have a Tremor but used and did all the same things you did. Only difference with my fogs is I went with the SSC1's. This is the way the trucks should've came from the factory.
I have towed about a 2300lb travel trailer on a 1000 mile trip with zero problems then or after the fact. I have a 2023 Lariat Tremor and the only real difference between mine, not all of them but MINE, and a 4k truck is I don't have the upgraded cooling. It has everything else including a brake...
Excellent video. My topper is supposed to arrive to the US this week, tomorrow, but I am not holding my breath. I hope you get your Maverick soon. Personally I cant wait to get my topper and get it installed. It is the last big piece to building out my Tremor the way I want it.
Awesome, Yeah, I forgot you picked yours up from someone who already had it. Will do, I may just add the loctite as I go. I did see in the pics where you had to bend the mounting brackets a little. That's a good tip and when assembling stuff like this I always get it "together" completely before...
Great pics and tips. Mine is scheduled to arrive in the US by the 24th of March. I ordered the aluminum one with the side windows. I am excited to get it and progress my Tremor build. Do you have any advice other than what you have mentioned already? Pro tips? Anything you wish you had done...
