I used to use Turtle Wax "Ice" on both paint and plastic on a couple different cars. The liquid "Ice" worked excellent on both surfaces. Of course Turtle Wax recently has discontinued both Ice paste wax and the Ice liquid. It was the best product I've ever used in the last 60 years. Anything as...
Impossible. The offset of the FWD wheels won't allow an S/S type wheel with it's deep-set spokes and the wide outer lip. They also don't make anything with our oddball bolt pattern.
Sorry to hear that. But you are wrong. I looked at specs for exact same two Michelin tires in two sizes 225-65R17 and 245-65R17. They weigh on average 28 lbs. and 31 lbs. respectively. That's a 3 pound difference. Each make of tire will be slightly different but no way there is a 8/10 lb difference.
I might have plans to rework the area around the trailer hitch and license plate, basically move the plate to the center and mold in that hitch cover plate. Then I'll need to paint the indented/lower area of the bumper due to the "body work". Also plan to install fog lights in the front bumper...
That's why the Maverick is made in Mexico. No UAW there. Expect more auto jobs to slowly move to anyplace the UAW does not exist. It's one way to keep costs down.
I was just trying to avoid buying a bunch of paint and doing spray-outs to see which one matched the best. Yes, Krylon is good stuff, but "black" isn't alway just "black".
Has anyone found a flat or semi-gloss black paint that's an exact match for the black bumpers/rockers on these trucks? There are 100s of brands/types of black paint out there. Anyone verified a brand/color that reallly matches? (there is no factory color-code for this stuff... none of it is...
Filter is about 1/2 the size you'll find on a 5 to 7 liter V8. The 2.5 L is about 1/2 the size of those engines, yet holds almost as much oil. I don't really see a problem.
You might not "need" it, but it will help with weight distribution, and the truck will handle better. And that could help a lot under slippery conditions. Loss of MPG? I'm not sure you could ever measure it. I'll put a couple hundred pounds back there. I think it is worthwhile.
