Thank you to everyone who gave me their impressions and all the pictures. I decided to go with the TruXedo Sentry CT. (I really liked the canvas look over vinyl.). I went with the hard rolling cover because it seemed to me that I would be less likely to regret it later. It helps that after...
Thanks. If I may, when you are rolling it up, is that because you are carrying bigger cargo and, if so, does the cargo basically block the rear view anyway?
From driving around and trying to imagine having something like the roll blocking my vision, it seemed to me like if something was...
That's a great question! Logically, the answer should be when the cost of anything stolen/damaged fell below the dollar amount of the price difference between the cost of soft and hard covers, but I'm not sure that's the right answer psychologically. I'll need to think about it.
I'm not sure I have a bead on a lot of that really. I was running errands last weekend and having to keep tossing stuff in the cab (no tonneau). Was thinking, "It would be nice to be able to keep stuff securely in the bed" since I could see in future scenarios I could have a couple hundred...
Thanks, that's useful info. I live in the suburbs of a medium-sized city in South Carolina. However, I work downtown. There is some crime to worry about though not at the level when I used to live in Houston. It is enough to give me pause. Where I grew up in a town of 1,800 people or even...
Growing up, Dad had a convertible and we never locked it. He always said that if someone wanted to get in it, they could, and you might as well not have to pay for a new top plus whatever they took/stole.
I know, I know. But Iāve been chewing over the hard cover or soft cover for a couple of months now. I know I want a rolling one, but thatās as far as I get. And, unfortunately, it is a several hundred dollar difference.
The soft is lighter to remove, squishes up for maximum bed space...
Follow-up question: When you do need to roll up the cover, presumably it is because you are wanting to put something in the bed that is a bit taller. In those cases, how often does the cargo end up obstructing the rear view such that it doesn't matter how much of it is blocked by the tonneau...
Iām looking for measurements as to how big around your tonneau covers are when rolled all the way up? (Iām trying to work out how much rear visibility and bed length Iād lose.) Please say what brand and model you have (or at least if it is a hard or soft rolling cover), but donāt worry about...
When you are pulling into a parking space etc., you can push a button to activate the front/360 camera. And, when you shift into reverse, the screen view shifts to reverse. But when you switch back into drive, the camera does not go back to the front view automatically, so you have to push the...
The pointy ones I got have two screws. I like the fold down idea though... if it will hold the weight. A single screw doesn't leave much redundancy.
@Glen Baker LLC I don't have any particular load in mind. My most likely hauls are garden supplies, maybe an old washing machine or...
@Glen Baker LLC @Jeff D.
Do you (or anyone else) see any reason for concern that the fold-down ring types only have a single screw to support the load vs. the two screws of all the OEM types and the "pointy" ones I found? Thanks.
OK. Thanks. I was wondering. @Glen Baker LLC by screen do you mean this https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-rear-differential-photos.59404/#post-1001065 ?
I mean this. The marked up picture is from the @MABETT Amazon listing for their underbody cavity shield. The second is under my truck on the passenger side looking back towards the driverās rear.
On my ā25 Lariat hybrid, the muffler is not where it is in any install or underbody video Iāve seen. In the videos, it is onnthe left side very close to to the end of the pipe. In mine, however, it is much further forward and kind of on the right. Is that an AWD thing or a hybrid thing or did...
