Sorry to hear it happened to whom ever the truck owner is. That’s the one good thing about Ford for all their faults, they really do build a safe vehicle.
Also, any hybrid buyers out there want to see how one of these hybrids drive. Just look at this review, starting around 13:00 minutes in, only complaint was rpm’s, around 15:25 and he sure did like those electric motors kicking in. Around 15:45 feels just like driving a standard combustion...
I think they nailed the value proposition. And Maverick, like all Fords emphasize function over form, while Hyundai Santa Cruze emphasize form over function. But the dreaded CV comments may be off and has others have said maybe they’re thinking of older belt driven CVT’s vs ECVT. Maybe they...
I’m so torn on those bushwhacker fender flares. I love the way the look and it provides some much needed contrast around the fenders but I read some bad reviews about the brand, on other trucks where they dug into the paint underneath. I’m conflicted.
I’m not sure what more comfortable means from the spec list. Is there more springs, support, cushion, or a nicer fabric? I can only go off what’s in equipment group 300A and it just seems to be nicer fabric.
I went with cactus gray. I almost got the cactus gray color for my wife’s bronco sport before we luckily found her an Area 51. I like unique colors and the cactus gray had a bit more Character than carbonized for me.
Also, I’ve seen numerous rangers with the contrast between black wheels and...
I sat in the XL seats. They seemed fine to me, just not the blue Jean like pattern but still perfectly fine. Like any other car seat. Also at the XL price point you can easily dress it up with Katzkin seat covers.
I had the same dilemma, XL or XLT. Here’s my decision tree:
First, I thought about what I wanted to use my truck for eco boost for AWD and towing, off-road toy, or a hybrid for everyday driver/commuter with trips around town. The best use case for me was a hybrid.
Next, I thought about the...
Good question. Apparently the news broke on this forum:
https://autos.yahoo.com/ford-maverick-hybrids-reportedly-not-135400150.html
Also the CEO Jim Farley has been pretty adamant about shifting away from loading up dealer lots and then having to give up a bunch of margin to move that...
Not sure if this helps to see on a different ford vehicle but here’s a pic of iconic silver on my mustang. Pros: looks good, shines in the sun doesn’t require as much washing, has to be super dirty before it shows dirt, forgiving in that the sun reflects light and shine can draw your attention...
Also, I have no facts to back this up, only casual observations but I think that trying to game the algorithm using the parameters of previously picked orders, ignores the part of the algorithm that trues everything back up. Or another way of looking at it modifying your order, based on what...
For the question on why do you not have the flexibility you’d like as the vehicle buyer. I think a lot of folks may feel that way but there’s nothing we can do about it. Ford didn’t create but is forced to abide by the you have to buy from a dealership model. That creates unnecessary tension...
No push button start on the XLT Luxury package, Overall, keyed ignitions seem like a boneheaded move by Ford. No flexibility in the ordering/fulfillment process, limited updates by Ford, no way to see your current build with all changes [dealers referring people to ford and vice versa], no...
As others have said here, there’s different Ford models for different uses. The ranger seems to be the truck model for serious off-roading. The maverick gets some off-roading but the videos posted here also showed the limits in clearance, approach angles, and rocks. It does show the maverick...
We had an Edge with those gremlins. We Let the dealership “find” us the vehicle we wanted and the other dealership probably let it go because of the problems. It stopped/lost power on my wife in a busy intersection, threw every code in the book. But wife was able to restart it and drive it...
Paint has always been a sore spot for me and Fords. They really need to figure out what GM is doing and how to replicate that because the paint on the Silverado was some of the best paint I’ve ever had on a vehicle. Compare that to my wifes’s Bronco sport or my last mustang, where the paint...
For what it is, a functional, major systems reliable, practical, cost effective, placeholder until electric becomes more mainstream and safe with solid state batteries, my Maverick hybrid order is very much worth it.
For what it is not, overpriced, higher end interior finishes, or a significant...
While all of your points are completely clear, cogent, rational and reasonable that’s not how working with a dealer works. This goes back to the laws that each state implements protecting dealers and requiring manufacturers to allow a third party to insert themselves into a sale of automobiles...
