  1. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

The Maverick will be around 200 inches. It will also be much heavier then your old school Ranger. And the little 1.5T makes more power and torque then the old school Cologne and Vulcan V6 engines. If Ford is able to hit the $20,000 mark for entry level vehicles, this will very much be a...
  2. Features : Need/Want/Don't

Hey Dan, backup cameras are required by federal law...you're already 33% towards your wish list.
  3. Common problems - Are you concerned?

NOTE: this was posted before specs were known about towing. I'm not a big fan of towing at capacity with a (gasoline) turbocharged engine. I think they are fine for loads of 50% of capacity somewhat regularly, but I would not make a habit of capacity towing with such an engine. If that's your...
  4. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

You can thank crash regulations for the trend towards high belt lines. Glass doesn’t hold back much force during a side impact. Glass has to be traded for structure in order to make cars safe.
  5. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

I don’t think that’s a 2wd truck. It’s car based, not body on frame, so it is inherently lower. It may not be for you. But I’d wait until actual specifications are released before passing judgement.
  6. Features : Need/Want/Don't

I'm looking at this truck a little different then most of you. I've owned full-sized pickups with all of the bells and whistles. I have a fondness for bells and whistles. I just don't need a full-sized truck anymore. Want: All of it. Apple Car Play, all of the safety features (lane departure...
  7. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

Agreed. Doing some scaling off that photo I'm coming up with 54" bed. I assumed the same tire wheel as the Bronco Sport Badlands model (235/65-17) which gives a 29" diameter tire.
  8. Ordering a Maverick...

It depends on the dealer. Some dealers are interested in getting a car out into local circulation to draw in other customers. I had that luck with a few cars. Other dealers see this as an opportunity to take advantage of people who want to be early adopters a particular car. You should always...
  9. Vinyl Seats Please

The 1970's called, they want their product planning back. There are much better materials that are easily cleaned, are durable, and you don't stick to them. Vinyl is for decals and records.
  10. Current Daily Driver?

My BRZ was real special. It was super charged and tastefully modified. I’m 58 now and I felt like people who saw me driving it were saying “oh that’s nice, his son let him drive his car”. The car was garage kept, only driven in the warm months and never once driven in the rain. I asked a premium...
  11. Current Daily Driver?

oljackfrost, I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but we own the following Subaru's right now: Forester (me) CrossTrek (wife) Outback Wagon 6M (me/son's use) I also recently sold my BRZ. I'm not a Subaru fanatic...they just happen to make the things we like to drive. We will trade in the...
  12. Current Daily Driver?

I’ve owned pickups since 1990 - all Chevy and GMC. For some strange reason, I leased my last Denali. When the lease was over, I was truckless for the first time in 30 years. I have a company car (Forester) - but I need a truck in my life, just not a full size one anymore. Life without a truck...
  13. Maverick production to start in July 2021, suppliers told

Manual transmission and AWD, regardless of the engine, and I’m in as well. I kind of need the AWD more than I want a manual. The holy grail is obviously 6M, AWD and 2.0T.
