Found a small rock chip about a week and a half ago.
Ordered a touch up pen that was estimated to arrive last Friday but now is on backorder.
New estimate is Aug 31st availability + shipping time before paint arrives.
Should I do anything to protect the chipped area before the touch up paint...
You can always recommend Project Farm! Love their stuff.
I've seen the PF ceramic coating video once or twice already. I'm more curious though if anyone here has experience with hydrophobic coatings in the particular application mentioned above.
It's been difficult to find real-world...
Anyone have first-hand experience using a ceramic coating on your toilet? or these fancy polymer coatings intended for the same purpose? Do they work? Worth it?
Would love to do less cleaning there.
This cover should be standard. If I touch these buttons while driving, it's usually once during the trip to reset the truck to how I had it before someone changed something.
Just ordered an OEM paint pen for minor touch up but I haven't used these before and I'm looking for some help or tips on getting the best results from it.
My plan:
Thorough clean and dry area around chip with ph-neutral car wash soap.
Use a small bit of polishing compound to smooth out small...
Best thing you can do is talk to the installer before you schedule and take it in. Go in person if you can so you can use the truck as a visual aid for your questions. Look at examples here on MTC and you'll see there can be some variation in which parts get covered and how much. For the...
I think the chimes would only activate when both the blind spot is occupied AND the turn signal is used. At least that's how it worked in a Hyundai I recently drove.
To me, that sort of chime is 100% welcome and appreciated. In just the right (wrong?) lighting, it can be easy to miss the...
Yeah - that's the e-mail. Delivery can take some time; hopefully your truck is still in transit and this was just a mistake that can be quickly cleared up.
I'm always a fan of showing up in person when you can. Hope it goes well tomorrow!
If it was shipped already I highly doubt it would turn out to be a 2024 model year vehicle.
It it did ship, one of those e-mails from Ford should read "Your vehicle is on its way" near the top.
It should be exactly one month (counted as 30 days) plus or minus sixty to ninety days with a five week margin of error and an additional two months accommodation for unanticipated freight anomalies.
Mark your calendar!

Somebody got into an old car of mine once and it didn't have a proximity key, or a keypad, or a phone app to unlock it. They made it look pretty easy and all they needed was access to the rear windshield and a tire iron. Probably similar with Lariat. 🫤
Bottom line - I wouldn't leave keys to...
I think this was kind of the goal in the new pricing for the 2024 model year. Previously, perhaps more buyers than Ford anticipated saw the lower trims as being the most valuable. By "squeezing" the pricing closer together, the higher trims might look like a better value for money to many...
