See side bar. 2024 Hybrid XL - I do not believe so, as I have the base trim. I obviously have the standard lights on the side mirrors and alert on possible collision (but do not think that's what you are talking about).
Sounds like you’re doing a bit much. Look at the maintenance schedule.
For your actual question though - no one can tell you that you can’t work on your own truck. Warranty included. It’s a law. Otherwise, dealers would be complete assholes and independent shops would suffer.
The only tiny...
I’m not you.
But those things are definitely not important enough to me to replace the modem. In some ways, it’s an improvement - I already have all connectivity tuned off while I isolate / deal with battery drain history!
Are all those things worth $700 or less but time / stress to replace...
I hear you. You’re absolutely right.
Keep a jumper in the truck!
i just got to the point where a $250 AGM was worth preventing a wasted afternoon stranded somewhere. Not worth being right for me.
Did you install an AGM? The higher capacity seemed to “fix” the issue by being able to take the small drain I may still have left.
As many have argued, the truck should have come with an AGM - or they should have automatically given us an AGM replacement when these issues became prevalent.
It’s easy to Monday-AM quarterback people. Saying you would “get to the bottom of it” is fine but just assume we all have tried. The decision here given Ford’s lack of response is install an AGM and work around it (I believe turn off connectivity OR trickle charge) or turn the truck in. I like...
Very easy. All through infotainment / radio interface. Just scroll through settings and turn off anything that communicates with outside world. WiFi, Bluetooth, OTA updates, etc. Takes five minutes. Lots of guides around - just do a search.
That said, some have said you shouldn’t have to do...
Absolutely was going to be my plan - should have mentioned that. I’m trying to identify the exact drain now.
That said, getting rid of it all makes me realise that I don’t miss any of it at all. Most of it was wasted on me - just sitting there “on” and never utilised. Even Bluetooth is silly...
2024 XL Hybrid here!
I don’t have data that shows the issue I had, but many of you are all too familiar with the following evidence of a problem:
Within the first 10K miles:
Dozens of battery-saver mode notifications. Almost always overnight / very early AM.
Quite a few resulted in no...
You can do it that way. And maybe that’s the “right” way.
But honestly, just doing a true BMS reset should suffice. It will “read” the new battery and operate as intended. From what I hear, that’s what most dealers will do too - they don’t mess with Forscan.
Make sure you do all the steps...
That’s most likely what happened. Often the easiest answer is the correct answer.
i wouldn’t stress about the issue returning. An AGM should do the job.
Planning on posting a new thread soon with my week’s worth of voltage readings that I’ve done to show my drain is “gone” now - and describe...
Not isolated, as even Ford (without taking responsibility) recognises it.
But also not a given that you will experience it. Many don’t. Depends on a number of factors such as your build, driving habits, climate, etc.
No matter what, get a decent jumper to throw under the backseat - NOCOs are...
MVP!
And for us complete idiots out here, you can download the software and get links for adapter here? Any you suggest over others?
