I'll jump in on this one....I read a few posts in the forum regarding the lack of fluid in the transfer cases with metal shavings. I'm also that guy that when purchasing a new to me used vehicle I always have all the fluids changed and I always asked for a good sampling of those fluids to see...

Actually this engine cover sits about 2 to 3 inches above the engine itself so I don't think any heat issues will arise...When I post the pics after I paint this engine cover to match my truck, I'll take a side view pic to show how far up from the engine it sits, but your point is well taken!
