you could attach with a nut/bolt. Just countersink the back side to fit the slot.

I chose the Lariat trim to come as close as I could to my Subaru Outback Limited features. I love the Adaptive Cruise/lane-keeping and non-cloth seats the most of all the other 'pluses' over the XLT. The lariat is also quieter than the Outback at 75+.

Retired Boomer from NJ. Swapped my 2020 Outback Limited (3rd one) for the 2025 Lariat. The Lariat is the closest trim to match the Outback features. I wanted a small pickup to discourage my friends from asking to borrow the truck (and me!) to move "stuff". A bit Spartan but a good looking rig...
