  1. AC always come on at startup?

The AC compressor runs on electricity. The gas engine doesn't come in until we have backed out of the drive way and gone down the street a bit and give it much throttle. Our church is less than a mile away and if we are light on the throttle we can get there on 100% electric and the AC is on the...
  2. AC always come on at startup?

We live in the Mojave Desert. The only time we would ever see that kind of humity percentage would be in a rain storm during the monsoon season. Typically we are less than 10% humidity.
  3. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

Same here. A lot of short trips could be considered "severe use" as defined by Ford, as the engine doesn't get a real chance to heat up to an optimal temperature. A 5,000 mile interval for oil changes is a good idea. Oil is cheaper than engine repairs.
  4. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

Common sense says that an engine that starts up and stops repeatedly is going to be harder on an engine than one that is running continuously at a reasonably steady RPM, thus circulating oil throughout it constantly. In my opinion (note that I said MY opinion) that very fact alone places the...
  5. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

The person asked for recommendations. I am giving my recommendation. I could care less what anyone else chooses to do with their hybrid Maverick. I choose to do an oil change every 5,000 miles. As l mentioned previously we live in a very hot climate here in the Mojave Desert and the vehicle...
  6. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

If your Maverick sat undriven for 1 year it will tell you to change the oil regardless of having zero miles changed. Goes to show that Ford can call it an "Intelligent oil monitor" to attract younger owners who swear that technology is so sacrosanct in life. Old school thinking is safer than...
  7. RIP Lasfit tail lights

Our 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat with Lux package has factory LED tailights.
  8. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

The constant stop/start is one of those factors. The other is we have over 90 days each year well above 100F in the hot dry Mojave Desert climate. Replacing the oil every 5,000 miles is cheap insurance to insure the longevity of the engine.
  9. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

You stated it absolutely correct. Basically a hybrid by its very nature puts the ICE in severe use through constant start/stop cycling. For our hybrid we are following the recommendation of 5,000 mile intervals and ignoring the supposed "intelligent" oil life "monitor". You have to remember...
  10. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

The owner's manual says that you are required to change the oil no less often than every 10,000 miles to maintain the warranty. It also says that if the vehicle is used in severe conditions that a maximum 5,000 mile intervals is required. Some of the conditions they consider "severe use"...
  11. Daily morning commute MPG

If you use EV Coach and Economy mode you'll see it get even better.
  12. Questions about Car Scanner Pro reading for 12v battery

We just took a short drive across town of 10.9 miles and the SOC before turning the vehicle on started at 89%. The drive took a total of 22 minutes and the SOC, when reaching home, was 96%. It was charging at 14.75V all the way home and when the Maverick was turned off it was at 12.62V. Had...
  13. Questions about Car Scanner Pro reading for 12v battery

That was the point I was making is that Ford evidently set the vehicle to only provide the standard charge current when the battery SOC dropped below 80% and then when it reached 80% switched to trickle charging (around 1 amp). By changing the programming to tell it any time it is less than 100%...
  14. Questions about Car Scanner Pro reading for 12v battery

If you get the vehicle set so that it charges at around 14.71V until the AGM battery reaches 100% charge, it will recharge from whatever state of discharge it is in until it reaches back up to 100% and the voltage with the vehicle off is around 12.75V. This is how Ford should have set them up...
  15. Blacked-out Lariat side emblem.

I know it's a "thing" for some people, but what is the actual fascination with getting rid of chrome accents on a vehicle? I wouldn't want to hide chrome on any vehicle as it is there to add character to it.
  16. Effin' Screw Up

Completely clear ones are legal in our state. Smoked ones are not.
  17. Auto AC is weak when it is hot outside

Not sure why this original poster is having problems. Wondering out loud if it could it be related to being a 2025 model year? Our 2023 Lariat hybrid (Lux model) with auto climate control with the manual controls below the screen works extremely well. Or last passenger vehicle with actual...

No, the officer who wrote the ticket and the department would be covered under qualified immunity. Mistakes do happen.
  19. Effin' Screw Up

The Tacoma license plate last two figures are clearly E4. Your license ends in F4. The system pulls your VIN from your registration. The parking enforcement misread the E as an F because of the black Toyota licence plate cover was obstructing the bottom of the E.
