I have a '24 EB, FX4 and 4K tow package, with the machined gray wheels (and chrome lug nuts, not black). I love the combo, but have seen a lot of posts about Ford lug nuts corroding and swelling, without seeing any highly recommended replacements, specifically in chrome. Amazon has some...
I don't mind seeing old topics brought up. I think some of the posters live on here too much and assume everyone has seen all the posts, or picks the right search terms.
Thanks, that makes the most sense. I'm still surprised it doesn't control charge based more on state of charge from voltage readings than on trying to integrate current in and out.
No, I'm sorry for the confusion. I don't need to reset anything.
My real question: Why does the BMS know or care about any battery charging when the engine is off? Does it even know it happened??
Thanks, all. I tracked down the manual, per Decayed's suggestion, and it recommends the chassis connection, too. It seems to be to avoid arcs/sparks, just as in jumping. They don't discuss monitoring circuits. Looks like I'll leave well-enough alone.
I recently hooked up a battery tender to my '24 EB FX4 truck, to accommodate our infrequent use and short trips. I followed the advice of several posts here to hook the positive to the battery positive and the ground to a chassis ground, much as you would for jumping a car. Things seem to be...
This was our '85 Nissan King Cab - one of a string of Datsun/Nissans for us. The earlier ones had an external horizontal seam in the bed. It rusted in a couple of years in New England.
That's not quite what I meant. I wasn't thinking that the limited-slip would be engaged, only that the RDU mechanical capability (size, gears, bearings) might be lower, accounting for Ford's lower cargo and towing specs. As I recall, it was originally designed for the bronco sport rather than a...
